The Next Generation

I am late getting to these but we love talking about next gen. So any questions you have feel free to drop them in the box.

A little overall backstory. The arrowverse next gen was started way back on January 14th 2018. It started as a 'hey let's make more girl superheroes', then 'wait why are all my faves dead. not on my watch', and of course 'if we drown oliver queen with love and support will he know he's the best?'. And now it is roughly 247 additional characters.

He doesn’t want to jump, not really. He knows that he shouldn’t be there, he knows deep down there’s somewhere else he needs to be. But still he let’s the tip of his sneaker graze against the edge of the roof. He could do it. He could just do it and then the thoughts and the pain would stop.

What a great question, and I'm happy to report he does have a favorite.

While some would think it might be his mother, since Black Siren is one of the more consistent people in his life, but while he loves his mom, even Laurel knows she's not her sons favorite.

His fave if you ask is the Green Arrow for obvious reasons. Mere man, goes out and fights for the good of the city without complaint. In fact Q isn't sure he'd even be here if it wasn't for Oliver and the reason of og team arrows impact on his mother.

She wanted to be bold, like her mother in the stories she told about the old Legends. She wanted to be fearless, like her father and his adventures. So she pressed her lips to his, expecting the cosmos to realign and their hearts to sync.

Instead she had JJ pulling back, placing a hand on her shoulder to hold the distance between them.

He was going to explain, she could see the guilt and pain written into every facet of his face.

What on any earths made her think this could ever work?

"Aliyah, I--"

"Don't sweat it," she cut him off, burying the hope and joy she had a second ago. And putting on a smile that was as fake and fragile as she felt. "Really, JJ. I don't need an explanation."

"I feel like i should still give you one."

She shrugged. "You're still in love with Ada, I get it."

He had the decency not to add a sorry to that. And Aliyah felt grateful for that.

"She's hiding something from me," he said, not to her really, but as if he was trying to work out a problem. "It's the only reason she'd pretend to be this into Katz."

"Maybe she is," then after a beat she added. "Hiding something I mean. But what are you gonna do about it?"

A selfish part in her wanted him to say he would give up. That being in love with someone who was clearly trying to be into someone else, was too much drama.

But unfortunately she had also had known these people most of her life. She had known better than to fall for JJ. Because in all these years she had only seen him have eyes for one person, and that person was always only looking back at him.
