I havenāt touched this blog in a long, long time.
But Iām going to step out of the void for a second to just say several things for the arrancar since I took a trip down memory lane due to Bleach making a comeback.
Ikkaku should have died against Poww. I love his character but he should have paid the price for refusing to use his full power especially with so much at stake.
Ggioās ending was bull. What the hell was that second form?
Tesla not having a real fight despite being NNOITRAāS FRACCION was also bull. Can you imagine if we never got to see anyone from Kenpachiās squad fight?
The fact the Tres Bestias were kicking everyoneās ass (someone should have died there too tbh) but then...you know what happened with the Quincy.
Harribel. She deserved SO much better.
...can we all agree sure Yammy is the strongest in raw strength and power but heād literally would get his ass whooped by Ulquiorra, Baraggan, Starrk, and Harribel? Iām not trying to hate on Yammy but with how he was defeated it left a bad taste in my mouth that he was the Zero Espada.
Coyote Starrk and Lilynette were underused. Those two have always been comfort characters to me so maybe Iām biased but itās ridiculous the Primera did not get enough time in the show or manga.
Same thing with Baraggan and Harribel. I would love to see the rest of the espada get fleshed out more like the Akatsuki were from Naruto.

More of the Espada and Arrancar should have survived. Aizen manipulated them.
Besides horrible injuries, there were no casualties on the shinigami side and I seriously think there should have been. Can you imagine how intense, how much of a game changer it would have been if characters weāve gotten to know up until that point (especially with all the filler episodes if youāve watched them) were killed off? When the āgood guysā (I hesitate to use that term when it comes to Soul Society when they have MAYURI KUROSUTCHI) always win, there is no tension. No need to worry.

Did anyone else think there was the tiniest possibility of him coming back in the manga? Like I had that thought when I saw we were going to Hueco Mundo again after the timeskip. We saw him crying, barely alive after witnessing Nnoitra fall. Even though it was like 0.01% chance, I thought there was a possibility of seeing Tesla again (even if only to square up against Zaraki).

ON THE ISSUE OF NNOITRA GILGA - PSYCHOLOGICAL ANALYSIS
Okay. So it has been a pretty widespread opinion in the fandom that Nnoitra has one of the worst personalities in Bleach. Phrases like āmisogynic bastardā, ājerkā, āweak coward, āeasy to hateā etc. etc. appear basically in every opinion thread.
However, Iād just like to prompt one question.
WHY is he like that?
Because Nnoitra has one of the most serious psychological issues in Bleach. He was in the desperate need of help, which he didnāt get and thatās why it all ended like that. Well, he actually got the opposite of help.
But let us start the analysis from the beginning.
The basic and underlying problem of Nnoitra is an inferiority complex with an absolute zero of any self-worth. I know, what he says doesnāt confirm it. He keeps on babbling how strong he is, saving degrading words for others, but thereās where the difference between what he shows outside and what really is is inside his mind comes in. If heād really think of himself as the strong one, why would he try so desperately to prove his self-worth, why would he seek so much for validation?
With this said, Nnoitra feels really bad with this complex and has his own ways of dealing with it. Yes, these ways are sometimes super drastic. But the gravity of all the actions he is able to take just to feel a little better about himself only proves how serious his problems are.
The first and basic way in which he tries to increase his self-worth is by comparison with others. He finds those weaker than him and then, well, kills them without mercy in a fight. This gives him moments of validation, a proof that he actually has some worth - more worth than those weaklings he had just slain at least. Because heās stronger and strength is what attributes for worth in the world of the Hollows/ Arrancars. His enjoyment of fighting isnāt about the process itself - itās about what psychological benefit he can get from it.
Then why does he keep fighting Neliel although it doesnāt give him any validation but rather pushes him into the pit of inferiority really, really deep?
He says itās because he hates her. Because he hates that a woman can be higher in rank than a man.
Again, thereās a big difference between reasons (what he says to justify his actions) and actual causes. Because the actual cause for Nnoitraās hatred doesnāt lie in Neliel - it lies in himself.

Honestly, this is so spot on. Initially I hated Nnoitra, but then when I reread and watched the series again I got the feeling there was more to him. I actually quite like his character now because he's surprisingly relatable.

Umm...okay feel free to skip this, but I just need to talk about this really gross trope I've found in Bleach fanfiction.

I've noticed that for some reason in some fanfiction that Baraggan's fraccion (and sometimes Baraggan himself) sexually assault characters, particularly females (the Tres Bestias more commonly). I'm just confused on why? I didn't get one vibe from any of them that this is something they'd do...
To make matters worse, there was one fanfiction where it seemed like it was done to make a male OC look good (he saved the Tres Bestias from Baraggan's fraccion).
This happens a lot in other fandoms too. A male canon character tries sexually assaulting another character when it just seems so grossly out of character. Stop using it as a plot device to make another character look good. It also just feels like a cheap way to make whoever is committing the crime look bad.
Not to mention this is really insulting to the female characters it's happening to. If I have to read another fanfiction where the Tres Bestias are helplessly getting assaulted, I'm going to vomit.
How would the Espada's React if their s/o was being mentally or physically abused by Loly Aivirrne (sorry to anyone who is a fan of loly Aivirrne)
Starrk: Despite him being the lazy guy, Starrk does not screw around when it comes to the safety of the people important to him (aka, you and Lilynette). One warning, and one warning only will be given. Hopefully Loly isnāt dumb enough to try anything further considering Starrkās spiritual pressure would be more than enough to knock her flat on her ass.
Harribel: Sheāll given a warning, and if she thinks thereās even the smallest chance Loly will try to do anything to her s/o, itās game over. I highly doubt Loly would do anything to screw with Harribel or anyone associated with her.
Ulquiorra: Loly he already sees as trash. He wonāt think anything of getting rid of her if he decides she is more trouble to let live. If you didnāt tell him what was going on, heāll get irritated that you didnāt go to him about it.Ā
Nnoitra: Again, I see Loly as the type to avoid Nnoitra and anyone affiliated with him. If Nnoitra found out about her abusing his s/o, itās likely heāll injure her and have either his s/o finish her off or have Tesla brutalize Loly. Heāll fully watch the entire thing too, mocking Loly for biting off more than she could chew.
Grimmjow: Basically, think about what happened with Orihime and just intensify that. Orihime was someone he owed a debt to, and he needed her in his quest to fight Ichigo. What do you think he would do to someone fucking around with his s/o?
Zommari: Heāll ask if his s/o wants to deal with the situation themselves, calmly talking with them about it. If it escalates, he will step in. He wonāt kill Loly, but heāll make it very clear she needs to cease her behavior.
Szayel: Would you like to test one of his inventions on her? Heāll help you make sure Loly is scared to go near you, but if the situation gets worse heāll step in. Besides, I believe Szayel is another one Loly wonāt risk messing with.
Aaroniero: He likes to avoid confrontation with others if possible, however in the case of Loly heāll offer to eat her for you.Ā
Yammy: Heās pretty simple. Loly is causing problems for you? If you donāt want to take care of it yourself, heāll gladly do take care of her for you. He wouldnāt think twice of it, and it gives him an excuse to destroy something.Ā

Grandpa!Baraggan HCās
For me, heās the hardest to write for so hopefully I did okay? The reason I call these Grandpa!Baraggan HCās is because I canāt imagine him with a s/o in a romantic sense.
In the event you got Baraggan fond of you (not an easy thing to do, so congrats???), youāll end up getting used to his fraccion. Because one of them will be tailing you. Barragan wonāt be the type to be overprotective, as he expects you to be independent and able to take care of yourself, but he also doesnāt want someone to screw with you. He wouldnāt be the powerful figure he is if someone he cared about was hurt and he couldnāt do anything about it.
If youāre not the best at fighting, then guess what? Training sessions! Most likely Charlotte, Ggio, and Findorr will be the ones helping you in this regard.
He will like it if you play chess, checkers, or shogi with him. He only plays with those he tolerates. Also itās his way of silently saying youāre good enough to complete in a game of strategy with him.
As he is not one to forgot his authority and power, he would encourage you (in his own way that might come off as harsh) to show you have power when you interact with others. Donāt be a pushover.
He will seem cruel on how he reprimands you if you show weakness, but he doesnāt know how to do soft. If he is spending time on you, then thatās an indication that you are important to him.
Human!AU HCās
He wants anyone who is close to him to be tough as nails. This extends to his children/grandchildren. So expect a lot of self-defense training, because he does not want to hear that his grandchild got beat up and didnāt deal any damage back.
Would totally groom his grandchild to be able to take over his position of power, human!Baraggan hits me as the type to want to leave a powerful legacy.

Well, I grew up watching all of the old school anime with my brother. Bleach was the first "newer" anime I took to (if that makes sense?) And I just fell in love with the colorful artstyle, and the character designs. The music is awesome too, I think Bleach has some of the best fighting music.
Bleach does have its problems, like every other TV show, but it is still one of my favorite animes of all time. (My favorite anime will always be Hellsing Ultimate)
Now for favorite characters...oh boy you opened the floodgates XD
I can't pick just one. I love Uryu, Chad, Hisagi, Komamura, and I stg I will fight for Orihime and Ukitake. And don't get me started on the Arrancar...(can I just pick all of them???) Most already know Starrk and Lilynette are my favorites. Szayel and Aaroniero are also favorites of mine.
And then theres the fraccion of Grimmjow and Baraggan and Harribel. (I love Charlotte, fight me )
And I need to stop now before I gush about these losers XD
