Yeah I really think even alloromantic people shouldn't feel they need romantic love to be happy or like they'll never be happy alone that's such a shitty thing to teach people. And a lot of people stay in bad relationships because they think it's better than being alone. Also like romantic love is not a cure for unhappiness that idea was so detrimental to my mental health.

the difference between a friendship and a QPR is super hard to explain because it really depends from person to person. but, at least my interpretation of things is that a QPR centres around commitment in the same way that a romantic relationship does.

it’s a commitment to love each other and to be there for each other.

it’s a relationship where you get to define your own rules, and it is free from the expectations placed on us by heteronormative society.

but really the whole point of it being “queer” is that it changes to suit the needs of the pairing. it’s a flexible way to describe a relationship, because it’s open to interpretation depending on who you’re with.

it just acknowledges that it’s okay to be in a committed partnership without romance being on the table, or without sex being on the table, or both.

people in QPRs feel free to add onto this, this is just how I describe it.
