Thad leans his elbow atop of Olive's head, using her as an arm rest as he suddenly appeared out of the blue. Before she can complain he hands her a large bag of chocolate covered pretzels. Call it payment for his tendency to annoy the teen.

"So what's the hot gossip this week? Anything interesting happen at school? Any progress with your love life?" Thad asks with a snicker.

"B r u h." Okay, the pretzels do in fact ensure that she isn't immediately shoving his green ass away. Chocolate and salty is always a safe mood, and she isn't going to turn free snackage away.

"Maps and I mapped out," no pun intended, "more of the secret tunnels we found. Which means I can pretty much get from one end of campus to the other without being seen. Fantastic news for my sneaking out habits. We haven't been brave enough to touch the ones that go into the broader city." Yet. Give Maps some time.

Her cheeks heat up a bit at that last comment though, whacking Thad lightly with the snack bag. "My love life is nonexistent. There's nothing to talk about there."

"Mostly the former," Olive deadpanned. It was a trip though. "To your guess's credit, Gotham has a surprising amount of fan clubs for both sides of the hero/villian schism. You would at least think with the amount of daily disruptions to traffic and constant freaky shit that it would be a turnoff, but apparently no one gets down like Gothamites." It's not a compliment. This city was fucked.

"Nothing that really told me what I was really looking for though. Still, it's gotta be weird to have that much of an online footprint that you didn't really make, right?"

"Beats me. I was always the sort of kid to wake up early by myself, make my own lunch, that sort of thing." Catch her own lunch would probably be a more accurate way of putting it, but that invites too many questions she does not feel comfortable answering yet.

"That still sounds made up, but I don't know enough about the stomach to disprove that." Maya isn't shocked that Maps would know the answer to that one. If anyone would, it was going to be her. Speaking of dessert, Olive's eyes widen just a bit in disbelief.

"Damian doesn't like ice cream? That's ridiculous. How can he possibly not like ice cream when there's thousands of variations of ice cream?"

"I kind of have been avoiding about thinking about what happens after graduation. After the Wayne scholarship is up I'm kind of... untethered?" That seemed like a better word than just straight up saying having nowhere to go. "Maps' family probably would let me crash in-between a college if I pick somewhere but I'd kind of feel bad. Every time I think about picking a place to go I start panicking so I haven't done any applications yet."

That all aside, she's latched onto something else, leaning in with the kind of curious intensity that she probably had when helping Maps solve a case.

"I've left the state, the country, and even the time period entirely. Yeah, obviously I've got to take a drink." Though for now he was just taking a shot of Coca-Cola. He'd add some rum to it later after he was done talking to Olive.

"You know given your suggestion, have you ever thought of leaving Gotham? Maybe like after you graduate or something? Maybe for college if that's an option you're looking into?"

Quietly Thad listened as the teenager mulled over her thoughts. There was careful consideration in her words it seemed to the speedster, but also an earnestness to them as well. He couldn't help the little pang he felt in his chest for her.

"That's...That's fair." He would be a hypocrite if he had said anything else. Whether it was a revenge fantasy or curiosity Thad knew what it was like to wonder, and wonder, and wonder, 'What if?' in the bloodiest of senses. "I'm sure a lot of people would say vigilantes have done harm than they have good. That their cities would be better off without them. That the good they do doesn't outweigh the harm they've caused." He says not as a villain but another person.

Well, at least she didn't think she could take him or kill him or whatever thoughts were going on in her mind. The teen had some sense, though Thad couldn't help that spark of concern that stung at his nerves.

"Yeah...People are complicated. We have heroes and villains, but nothing is as black and white as that. There's no stark division." People were capable of both good and bad no matter what they called themselves or what their symbol meant to the public. "It's fair for you to be curious." He admits, "But. I hope you never think to act on that specific curiosity because there's no coming back from it. It'll follow you forever and honestly? Coming from a guy who's done it, it's not worth it in the end."

Saying it's not worth it is... sadder than she was expecting. Not necessarily for Thad. Just, in general. There's still a part of her that clings to that she's different, that this is different, that maybe this time it is worth it. Especially when graduation feels like being plunged into a deep end of the city that she doesn't know how to navigate alone. So she nods slowly, acknowledging, but there's part of her that isn't fully buying it.

"For all we know, one of the rogues will get lucky and do it for me." A girl could dream. And maybe that was the secret to it feeling better or 'worth it'- have someone else kill him instead.

And maybe that's enough introspection for her tonight. Wishful thinking only turned into wishful daydreaming and then before you knew it you were behind in over half your homework with a concerned roommate dragging you back out into the socializing world.

"So if you're all done killing heroes, what kind of villainy do you do now?"
