Did some coloring and enjoyed the process. Note: the drawing does not belong to me, I just googled coloring pages and painted on top.

“Comparison is the thief of joy.”
Felt that way with my art. Hopefully, I’m out of that rut but I know it’s still lingering somewhere.
Being a girl is not for the weak.
Read more if you want cause I’m rambling. Lol.
For the past month, I felt frustrated with drawing in general. And the issue was that I kept comparing my art to other artists which I shouldn’t have in the first place.
I’ve always been drawn to drawing portraits but i sucked at proportions so much that I would sketch for almost an hour before rendering. I hated it. It made me feel like I was an idiot for not getting it. Then came the rendering—oh, dear. I didn’t understand why I hated the whole process yet went back to it like it was a toxic ex.
So, I decided to take a break and reflected: What can I do to enjoy drawing again? Does it mean accepting that a certain art style isn’t for me? That was a hard pill to swallow but I embraced the change and tried something completely different and here it is.
I don’t know where this is going but I’m having fun. Maybe it’s cause I don’t have to render so much. Lol. But I’m feeling more at ease and I’m looking forward to more creations.
Interact with this post if you feel or felt the same.
Switched things up and I’m happy with the outcome because I have always wanted to create my own oc and here she is. Meet Macy 💞
Kinda reminds me of Sabrina Carpenter

And like the moon, we must go through phases of emptiness to feel full again
Another Art style and I only used one brush to paint and blend—something that I’ve never tried before and I like it. Also, changed my signature 😂
Trying a new art style. It was hard not trying to render so much even though that’s what I’m used to😂

Another member from NewJeans — Haerin.
This time, I tried a new drawing style where I paint in grayscale then color on top and I’m not sure if I like it or not.
The colors aren’t popping as they should be but this is my first attempt and I guess I used too much brown😂 However, I’m attempting this style once again, so I’ll see how it comes out then post it.
Do you also paint in grayscale or you’re a master in colors?👀
P.S: ignore the signature: I’m trying to find my groove😭
I can’t decide on a good signature. This one is so ugly and I suck at calligraphy 😭
Minji from new jeans.
Since newjeans are coming back, I thought of celebrating their return by drawing one of the members, Minji.
It’s sad that they didn’t get the justice they deserved but I’m happy that my girls are still together because they are really talented. They are the first group who introduced me to k-pop and I’ll be forever grateful ❤️
