And this.
Okay, I'm done, but damn. And I'm not crying.
And then, there's Kurama v. Kurama and Sasaruto. Or Narasake? Whatever, it's disturbing af.
"The Road to Ninja," one of the Naruto movies, always gets me; the emphasis on the life that Naruto wished for (and lived as Menma) is one of the cruelest pieces of storytelling out there. The story of Minato and Kushina is tragic as is, and then to play it out in that dream is just insanely painful to watch. That said, I love AU types of storytelling and this movie does it so well. And frankly, Naruto shrugging on the Hokage robe - an exact mirror of his father doing the same - just warms my cold, dark heart.

I don’t care how jaded I become - this will never not get to me.

Once in a while, I reread my own stories.
Sometimes, it's because I'm looking for inspiration. Sometimes it's because I want to reassure myself that once upon a time, I COULD write something good, and maybe, maybe, I'll manage it again. And sometimes, it's because someone left a comment that made me think.
A reader recently messaged me and asked if I was ever going to add anything to the Wolves universe, from the  Wanted: Suspect, Motive, Random Wolves series that I wrote and my talented friend read. I had said in the notes of the last one, that it was, indeed, the last chapter and I had no intention of revisiting it. And I didn't - then.
So, what am I doing? Writing another chapter cause the reader asked if the characters "could be happy." It's Sterek, so who knows? But I decided to try. And it's hard, now. I seem to have lost the mojo, and my muse is off God knows fucking where. She comes and goes as she pleases. But I'm still going to attempt it; maybe miracles do happen.
Another, "Are you sure they're not the same character?"
Obviously Gojo has Limitless and Six Eyes, and Haru is just wrongly hot for his age, but ...
Gojo Satou, JJK and Hatsuhara Soma, Fruits Basket.
(I need to rewatch Fruits Basket and the final season, but it kind of breaks my heart).
I just finished "Run with the Wind" a few days ago, and reignited my love affair with sports anime.
A good sports anime is, yes, formulaic. There are some stock characters: the cheerleader who somehow is an all-knowing sensei, the angry teen prodigy, the hopeless athlete who Never Wanted To Play In the First Place, Dammit, the cynic who finds hope in strife ... you get it.
Think Haikyuu, Free, Days (very underrated show) Try Knights, Burning Kabbadi, Backflip (don't sleep on this one, it's great) Yowamushi Pedal, etc. And let's not forget "Blue Lock," and the great "Kuroko's Basketball!"
I started watching "Eyeshield 21," a football anime, and even though the quarterback is some weird Dragonball Z meets- Legolas (and is completely psychotic, of course) I'm enjoying it. When I'm done, I think I will rewatch Haikyuu and remind myself why Tsukishima, Nishinoya and Asahi are the men of my dreams. :D
Drop any recs here, please!

And hell, for that matter, Yuki from RWTW and Yatake from Given could be brothers.
Okay, so you can't tell me that Kurahara from Run With the Wind and Kageyama from Haikyuu are not the same dude, switching off sports.

Okay, I'm going to voice an apparently unpopular opinion in the Naruto fandom ...
Sakura haters SUCK. They're mostly misogynistic little dudes, and women who hate other women, even fictional ones.
You don't see any other female character in this particular fandom universe that gets more bullshit hate than she does. Was she annoying about Sasuke on many occasions? Yeah. Yeah, she was.
Did she save countless lives, including, oh, the fucking HERO of the series? More than once? Yes. Did she surpass Tsunade as a healer? Also yes. Did she more than redeem herself (although she never had to) in Shippuden?
Yes.
/ rant. Sorry, not sorry, this shit pisses me off.
I don't see people pissing on Karin, who had Big O's every time Sasuke's hair fluttered in the wind, or Ino, who was just as boy crazy as the next genin, or Hinata endlessly sighing over her Naruto.
I don't understand shipping wars or spending the energy to hate on a character, any character. If you're a person looking to hate, I can point you to some real life characters who are much more deserving of your passionate energy.
This transformation breaks my heart. Kaneki breaks my heart. I almost didn't make it through the torture scenes, and I have watched some seriously gory shit in my day. Every time he screamed, I literally covered my eyes and hoped he'd get rescued. In a way, I'm glad I knew nothing about the show before watching it; hadn't read the manga or seen spoilers. It was on my To Watch list forever, and I could never get past the first scene, but I forced myself. But because of that, every twist has wrecked me. I get way too invested in the shows for my own good.
Teen WWX: "...It's not like I am going to marry into the Gusu Lan clan."
Resurrected WWX: Married to Lan Wangji, the Second Jade of Gusu Lan.
Of course, as I sit here tonight, plotting the arc I'm going to be writing for Into the Void II, every single song on my iTunes suggests Sterek. Every. Single. One.
Also, if you're looking for a show that makes you go "What the hell is really going on, here," I suggest "Another." I wouldn't necessarily call it a horror anime, but it's interesting and I recommend it.

Okay, I was not freaking ready for this scene. Or any of the preceding scenes.
Tokyo Ghoul is a great, but brutal show and I'm steeling myself to go on here.
