The thesis of Eldest Daughter is how living in the real world instead of online you’re reminded of who you are and what you love and how that is true to you vs the person the internet wants you to be. For women that’s someone who doesn’t need anyone else in the world, doesn’t believe in marriage, thinks you have to take long breaks to “find yourself” after ending a relationship. And how none of that is true. The truth is if you leave the internet, you are reminded of what you love and why healing, both from a bad relationship that broke down your long-held beliefs and from internet culture, and how beautiful the world can be when you decide to live in it.
