Zarc was thought to be alone by everyone as a child. How wrong they were, he always had his family with him. His deck was his family, they looked out for him in every way. Especially his dragons, each like a sibling to him. Dark Rebellion always made sure Zarc never got lazy and kept him on his toes with exercise, he always made sure Zarc stretched beforehand to make sure he would never get hurt. Starving Venom always told him what to eat and how to eat it, heâd let Zarc eat junk food when Dark Rebellion wasnât around and spoil him. Clear Wing helped Zarc socialize with others, in just a few years she made Zarc from quiet, shy, and meek shut into a respectable man with great manners, though there were times he forgot his manners. Then there was Odd-Eyes. He was especially close to Zarc, he always stood watch over Zarc when he played as a child, when he lived through high school, and when he begun life as man. Zarc never did anything without asking advice from Odd-Eyes, he trusted him with everything and Odd-Eyes entrusted Zarc with all the same.
It was a slow day in his life, he had no matches, no meetings with his agent, just a day of relaxation. So he did what he would do as a child, he strode out to practice area and called out his dragons. He gazed at his family and grinned from ear to ear. They all lay down in a heap and zarc lay with them, resting his head against Odd-Eyes and feeling safe and at home.
âNo matter how much fame or fortune I get, You guys will still be the thing I value above all else,â Zarc said petting Starving venom and scratching Dark Rebellionâs chin. Clear Wing let out a soft purr and shifted so that she could see Zarc eye to eye.
âHow far youâve come little brother,â She chuckled resting her head at Zarcâs feet. Zarc closed his eyes and he remembered when he first learned he could see Duel Spirits. He was lost and scared, he had been seperated from his class on a field trip to a forest. He had gone off path when he saw a bird that caught his eye. Soon after he found himself lost and alone, he curled against the trunk of a nearby try and began to quietly sob. He clutched his deck close to his heart hoping someone would come find him.
âPleaseâŚ.I donât want to be alone⌠I want to be with everyone and see everyone smile when we play together⌠I wanna go homeâŚâ He sniffed as his tiny first grader hands clutched his deck. Then four lights began to shine from his deck. He wiped his tears and looked at his cards. He picked through his deck and found the four shining cards. Odd-Eyes Dragon, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon, and Starving Venom Fusion Dragon.
âZarc donât cry, please donât cry, we hate to see you so sadâ a voice said. He looked at Starving venom, the glow flickered as the voice spoke. Soon four phantasmal figures appeared before him and he recognized each immeadiately. Dark Rebellion reached out a claw to Zarc and Zarc took hold of it. His small hand barely holding onto the claw of his dragon. Clear Wing lowered her head to Zarc and did what Zarc assumed to be a smile. They walked him back to his group and he tried to tell everyone how his dragons had saved him. Unfortunately they couldnât see them so they ostricized Zarc and called him crazy. He didnât really care though, he had his dragons, his family.
He came back to reality when he heard a knock at his door. He got up from his rest and headed to the door. It couldnât have been his agent, he would have gotten a call. He hoped it wasnât some crazy fan who stalked him and found his home. That would have been a pain, as he looked through the peephole and saw a woman standing there waiting. He didnât recognize her at first but then he remembered. She was Ray Akaba, the Turbo Duelist, he had seen her duel and was quite the fan. She also looked adorable with her racing goggles on. He made sure he wasnât in his pajamas and looked somewhat presentable before opening the door.
âRay Akaba right?â he asked leaning against the door frame. She spun on her heel to face him.
âSorry for the intrusion but my D-Wheel broke down nearby and-â she paused and stared for a bit.
âIs there something on my face, patted his face quickly checking if he had something on it.
"Youâre Zarc, the Action Duelist, I never thought Iâd find you at some fancy house in the countryside.â She said playing with her hair. Sweet lord she looked adorable doing that. He recollected his thoughts and cleared his throat.
âYou were saying? Something about your D-wheel?â Zarc asked. Ray sighed and rubbed her temples.
âYeah it wonât start anymore and I thought I maybe could borrow some tools to see if I could fix whatâs wrong with it?â Ray asked rocking back and forth on her heels. Zarc could hear the practically hear the dragons snickering as he talked to Ray. They knew he was a huge fan would poke fun at him for being a fan boy.
âSure, come with me.â He said closing the door and walking to the garage to find his tools. Ray looked around as he followed him into the garage. She would have never picked zarc for a country guy, she had always seen him as some high life city pent house kinf of guy. Of course that thought wasnât at the front of her head. She was wondering about the prescence she felt. As soon as she set foot on the property she felt a familiar feeling. The feeling of duel spirits, she was one of the handful that could see and communicate with them.
âAha! Here we are!â Zarc said pulling out a toolbox. Now that she looked at him she noticed his pearly whites. She gave a smile and chuckled, now she saw why he had fangirls that practically died when he smiled. Zarc gave her a confused look and tilted his head.
âNothing, lets get to work,â She said bringing in her D-wheel. As they worked nothing turned up, everything was in working order. She rested her chin against her thumb and index finger as she pondered what could be wrong with her bike. Her eyes darted to Zarc as he took off his jacket, he was wearing a simple black tanktop underneath.. His toned arms being exposed and catching her eyes. She attempted to look away but her eyes kept returning to his arms.
âIâll get us some refreshments,â Zarc said heading into his home.
Ray pondered still about her bike but the image of Zarc taking off his jacket kept appearing in her head.
âOooooo~ Someoneâs caught little Rayâs eye~â chuckled Lunalight Cat Dancer as she appeared to Rayâs right. Ray rolled her eyes and scoffed at her monsterâs suggestion.
âSure heâs cute, but thatâs all he is just cute. Not like I find him hot or anything.â She said crossing her arms. Cat dancer faded away as Zarc reentered the garage with two cans of soda. She watched him open up the soda and drink. The relaxation she saw on his face was so alluring. The way his eyelids rested, how he- wait what was she thinking? As Zarc finished his drink he smiled at her and said âAlright back to work,â. This left Ray with one thought.
OH NO HEâS HOT
