What is this blog?

This blog was made as a way for me to share my writing. I honestly wasn't planning to create this blog for a while but with Whumptober upon us and NaNoWriMo very soon. I've decided to go ahead and start this blog.

Here I will be posting snippets of my works whether from original works, random snippets, pieces of fanfics, drabbles, whatever really it shall end up here!

About the Host

My name is Archaic Dragon. I will mainly use Arc or Archaic with the rare appearance of Dragon. My pronouns are Any/Ask. I’m proudly fluidflux who for those who don’t know what that is it means that not only does my gender change it also changes in intensity. Rarely I will ever care what pronouns people use for me. So normally I’ll just say when referring to me if you aren’t sure either use they/them or reflect your own. As a lot of the time my pronouns will shift to match those I’m around.

I’ve always loved art and drawing. My hobbies have always been angled towards the creative and hands on. Sadly though being a college student in engineering leaves very little time for creativity. So I try to spend whatever free time I have outside drawing or writing.

If there is anything else you would like to know feel free to send an ask tho I will NOT be giving out personal information especially that which would be doxing.

What else?

I write whenever I get the motivation to do so, this often meaning very late at night. I've always loved writing as a way to express myself and my emotions. I always enjoy getting the chance to share this with others and I hope this blog will help do so.

New fic on my Ao3 that I have been working on for the past bit.

It is a Twisted Wonderland fic!

5 times where Silver falls asleep leaving others to take care of him and then the 1 time in which he showed his appreciation for them caring. Aka a 5+1 Sleepy Boy Story

Xisuma stared at the map that sat in front of him.

So many places yet so little possibility for him.

He fortunately recognized many of the places, but the cost for most of them were far above the measely amount of credits that some elders had gifted him after he had helped them out.

The concept confused him to be honest.

He had seen a group of elders standing looking up a brown rough pole into a giant bush of green.

Having grown up being told that it’s right to listen to your elders. He did what he always did when confused. He asked questions.

Elders were wise there had to be some sort of reason for why they were staring up into that object correct?

When he had asked they had seemed awfully surprised. Then one of them pointed towards an off spurt of what he had learned was a tree. Upon said off spurt lay a fuzzy looking creature, one he had never seen before, one that was apparently called a cat.

Outside of the city was quite a strange place one that none of his books seemed to describe accurately.

Being the dutiful youngling he was he decided to get the creature for the group.

He had been quite successful with it but after that they had insisted on paying him for his help.

He had tried to refuse as it was only right to help out and he had nothing to trade.

But they insisted saying he had done something no one else had done. He could’ve ignored them, but he didn’t.

He tried refusing again explaining it was only his duty.

They insisted yet again explaining that he seemed like someone who would make good use of it.

He wanted to continue refusing, but he truly had no way to do anything. Everything here seemed like you needed to trade or pay and he had nothing.

He decided to take the credits as the group called them.

Ex ran as fast as his legs could carry him. Xelqua trailing along right behind.

They made a sharp turn heading down the sharp jagged alleyway that sunk into shadows before making way into a brightly lit and crowded street.

Right before they breached the passageway a hand shot out grasping his and pulling him back.

“We can’t go in there. We will draw too much attention.” Xelqua stated still holding tightly to Ex’s hand.

Xel was right. While the Watchers and Fiend-Scathe were not liked by the majority of species. They were smart and had their ways. 

If they truly wanted the two back in their grasp.

They would make sure of it.

Being anywhere within general sight was like waving a flag and screaming that you were a wanted criminal.

And no one would help them. No one wanted to be caught in the web of struggles that the two were trapped within.

“Take my cloak.”

Xaviar looked at Xelqua in alarm. 

Before he could argue Xelqua held up his hands. “It-It’ll be worse if you got captured again. I’ll be fine.”

Xaviar let out a deep sigh as much as he wanted to argue. He knew how stubborn Xel could be.

He took the cloak draping it over himself.

Xelqua gently fixed the cloak looking at Xaviar’s face for a second longer than what would be considered natural.

He made a questioning sound.

“It hides your eye.”

His eye? There was…it was then that Xaviar realized he could not see anything really to the left of him and there was this dull aching throb.

He started to reach up towards it but Xel quickly grabbed him arm keeping him from moving it. “Don’t, you don’t want to make it worse.”

Xaviar opened his mouth to say something but a loud clang echoed out from behind them in the allayway.

“Run.”

“See you on the other side.”

They both sped off through the crowd trying to blend in while also trying to get to the far end of the street.

Xaviar had quickly lost sight of Xelqua simply hoping that they both were going to make it through.

A hand grasped his wrist. 

So we’re currently working on part 5 for my whumptober series. Which I apologize for taking so long to do as I’ve not been in the mindset nor had time to like sit down and catch up on actually writing what has been planned out.

But my question that I have for you all is would you be interested in having like world building posts and like design sketches?

Staring at the walls of his confides. Waking up with a pounding headache the days were filled with pain.

So much pain.

He'd seen very few others ever since getting here. Those he did often it was only for a few minutes.

Never did he see the same Voidwalker twice.

His fingers dragged along the walls and floor. Those so emersed with that twisted, sickening magic that seemed to coat and drown anything that came into contact with it.

It hurt to breath.

To think.

To FEEL.

How much time had passed since he last saw Xisuma, he wasn't sure. He could only hope Xisuma was safe. Far away from here.

There were days where he would forget where he was. Days he would fade back to memories of before their relationship was utter shattered. Other days Xisuma would be standing there taunting him.

He deserved this. After everything that happened. He deserved to feel the pain he inflicted on his brother. If-if he had just taken a moment to think. Maybe things would have been different.

But he couldn't change anything. He just hoped that just maybe that somewhere out there Xisuma was still alive. Was making his way in the world. Finally finding a place where he could be himself and be safe while doing so.

If Xaviar ever got the chance to apologize to him brother he would, but he could feel him body weakening, his eyes staying shut for a few moments longer than they should.

He didn't know why they were still attempting to keep him alive if they only did so by leaving him on the cusp of it.

There were points it felt like hands skimmed along his face. Eyes staring at him from afar. Voices whispering in his ears.

To just let go.

To let it consume.

To be one with it.

He was not going to be fooled by it. It would not save him. It would only make things so much worse.

A jangle of keys filled the air.

Rolling slowly to his side on the rough, freezing ground he watched as heavy bloody boots stomped into the cell.

He tried sitting up, but his arms quickly collapsed beneath him. Leaving him panting feeling the ache and pain within his limbs. The urges flooded his mind yet again.

To let go.

To be free.

He was safe.

All he needed to do was let go.

It-it was appealing.

He felt himself slipping. Darkness creeping in in thick, gooey, slimy claws that tore at him.

"Leave me alone!"

Xisuma screamed at him eyes sharper and harsher than they ever had been before.

He could NOT give up. He still had to apologize.

Apologize for being such a god-awful brother.

He set his arms up under him again pushing himself back up yet again.

"Huh, so you still have some strength in ya?"

A force slammed into his side stealing all the breath from him and sent him toppling over a few feet away.

A shadow crouched over him.

Ex stared at the doorway that stood in front of him. Normally he would not care about barging straight into Xisuma's place, but something today just felt...wrong.

A shift in the air potentially or maybe something else.

He didn't know but as he had been walking along the path that weaved its way through and around all the innovative and creative buildings that were each so different yet still fit together. He could tell he was not the only one who felt it.

Past yells and glares had turned to glances and wariness.

Something was wrong and he needed to figure it out.

He didn't care for any particular reason on what was going on per say it was just curiosity.

At least that’s what he told himself.

Taking a deep breath ignoring the itching, nagging, overwhelming urge to run and hide.

He opened the door.

“Xisuma, you in here?” He called out knowing that his brother was somewhere tucked away, but where exactly was a mystery.

There was no answer. He could have figured as much. A trickle of thought floated through him mind.

If he and his brother’s so-called hermits could feel something wrong. His brother no doubt did as admin.

Just how serious was this threat that managed to sneak its way into the server.

Trailing through the build, its homey feeling leaving an empty and strained feeling within himself.

Something pulled at him telling him that he should be here.

This was home.

But it was not. It wasn't home and with his relationship with his brother it never would be.

Pictures decorated the walls, blankets thrown about, dishes and papers all laying around.

He wanted this.

He wanted this life more than anything. He would say it was all their fault for twisting him into this distorted, wicked being.

But that was not the full truth. HE had pushed himself onto that path.

"What are you doing here?" A voice asked from behind him.

Xaviar turned to see the weariness and stress that pulled at his brother's features. He held a steaming cup in one hand and a tablet in another.

"You look awful."

Xisuma raised an eyebrow at him before setting down his mug narrowing his eyes. "You wouldn't happen to know why it shows that there is a strand of corrupted code that is trying to corrupt the server that is extremely similar to the code that appears whenever you break into the server?"

Ex Xaviar blinked at that; he knew he left some code trace when he entered servers. But corrupted? that was unsettling. It was too much like something they would do.

"I don't know what you are talking about, X." Xaviar replied taking a few careful steps forward.

"Of course. Of course, you don't." Xisuma dragged a hand over his face, his eyes flicker purple before going normal again. "When have you ever known anything other than making my life hard?!"

"Xisu-"

"NO." Xisuma jabbed a finger at Xaviar's face. "I'm done with your games. You lie. You make me believe things are my fault. You say this isn't you, but your code signature is on the corrupted code!"

Xaviar glanced at the tablet, the code pulled up on it.

Xisuma was telling the truth. Highlighted as clear as day was his code signature.

But this was NOT his doing.

"Xisuma-"

"I- I just can't with you." A look of sorrow fell over Xisuma's face before he typed something into his tablet.

A sizzling feeling filled him up inside. An uncomfortable feeling screaming danger, to get out, to leave, he didn't belong here.

He was-

A long thud filled the air and Ex's eyes flashed open.

Xisuma's tablet laid on the ground, the member list pulled up, but lines of code trickled across the screen.

Ex gently picked up the tablet.

Words flashed across it as he touched it.

“What you scared?” Ex asked as he walked towards the entrance to the tunnels. 

“Xaviar, you know how dangerous those are. We can’t go there!” Xisuma cried out at Ex desperately trying to pull them away as well as get out of Ex’s grasp. 

“Oh come on, there is nothing wrong with a little peak inside. After all it’s for your ‘research’.” Ex said reaching towards the handle of the door that was keeping both their home and the pure void separated. 

There was a pause in Xisuma’s struggle. “Fine.” 

“You always- What?” Xaviar looked back at his little brother who had his head looking towards the ground.

“You always do this…there is never any winning against you.” Xisuma’s eyes shot up towards Xaviar. “Leave me alone!” 

A wave of magic washed over Xaviar as he went slamming into the door behind him with a loud thud. Xisuma sprinting away back towards where Xaviar could only guess to be home.

Menacing laughter filled his ears as he felt the palm of someone’s hand slam against his back. 

He blinked as a hand appeared in front of him. 

“Good job, Ex, really showed your brother who’s truly in charge!” -His friend- The voidwalker in front of him said.

“I-“ Xaviar started as he let the other pull him up.

“Now the little nerd will finally get the hint that nobody cares.” A hand slapped against his back a friendly gesture but one that only seemed to send spikes into his back. “Now let’s get out of here before we get caught.”

Xaviar stayed froze as the other teen started to walk away. 

Xisuma’s magic was never that strong. Xaviar had snuck glances at his brother practicing.

He knew. 

In fact thinking about it no voidwalker’s powers should be that strong. 

Not unless…

Alarms sounded out throughout the entire city. 

‘Breach has been detected. Hostile threats are present. Find safety as soon as possible.’

Xisuma…his brother was in so much danger.

Xaviar sprinted off towards where he knew Xisuma would be. 

Where Xisuma wouldn’t be able to hear the alarms.

Where they would find him.

Where they would kill him.

If he didn’t find him first there was no saying what would happen.

Xaviar sprinted up the stairs on the hill that lead to their house. It was an old observatory left to them by their parents when they passed.

The highest point in the whole city. The pure void mere inches out of reach but its beauty and terror present nonetheless.

Xisuma had always been fascinated by what lay beyond the confines of their hidden community. Xaviar feared what was out there. 

Xaviar had made it so that Xisuma would never be able to find out what happened that day. The last time the alarms sounded. 

Throwing open the doors Xaviar ran inside ignoring the smoke filling the air within the span of buildings below, the faint buzzing of the alarms sounding being muffled by the buzzing of the void that could be heard through the glass.

“Xisuma!” 

The was no sign of him. But nothing was out of place so for now they were safe.

“Xisuma!” 

Sprinting down the spiral staircase into the mountain was not the smartest of ideas making too much noise. But if he didn’t hurry there would be no time.

“Xisuma!”

“What?” A voice growled out. Annoyed beyond a point that Xaviar had ever think he had heard coming from his brother before. 

“There-“ 

“I thought I told you to leave me alone.” Xisuma cut him off. “I don’t want to see you.”

A pang shot through his heart. “Xisuma, please we have to go.”

“Oh not this again!” Xisuma shoved the book he had been holding into his backpack?. With a spin his brother jabbed his finger into his chest. “Oh, Xisuma you have to see this. Xisuma you have to go here. It’s fun. It’ll be fine. It is never true. You see me as a joke. I’m not falling for your so called ‘pranks’ anymore.”

“Xisuma-“ Xaviar started.

“No, I don’t want to hear any more of your lies. I-“

The sound of a door slamming open followed by thudding footsteps filled the room.

“What?” Xisuma choked out.

“We need to leave now.” Xaviar said grabbing Xisuma’s arm running over to a bookshelf pulling down on a candlestick to reveal a hidden doorway.

“Xav-“

“Go. Run as fast as you can and don’t look back. When you get to a portal jump and just think about safety. Someone on the other side will be able to help you.”

“Xav-“ Xisuma started clutching the bag he was still holding. 

“Go! I’ll follow after you.” It was a lie but Xisuma didn’t need to know that. 

It was the same lie their parents had told him. How truly cruel the fates were.

Xisuma gave a hesitant nod before sprinting down the hallway to safety.

Xaviar watched as his brother disappeared wanting to engrave the image of his brother into his mind knowing this was quite possibly the last he will ever see him. 

He wish it wasn’t one that was going to be filled with pain. 

He closed the door before walking over to the desk that sat looking out of a one way window. Breaking the side off he pulled out a pistol. One still stained with the blood of its previous user.

“Well well well, look boys. We got a youngster. He’d be of some use won’t he?” 

Ex held up the gun to point directly at the Fiend-Scathe that stood in front of him.

“Now I wouldn’t do that. We don’t want anyone getting any unnecessary injuries now do we?” The being took a step forward as Ex tightened his grip on the weapon.

Ex let out a ragged breath as he ran down the long dark tunnels. It was dangerous one misstep meant falling into the void and being lost forever. But he had no other choice. 

They had barely had escaped from there. 

That horrid gruesome place where all was pain and suffering.

Ex looked at Xisuma who hung limp and bloody against his shoulder.

This- Xisuma should NOT have had to go through what he did. Ex should have tried harder to protect him. To keep him safe all these years. It was his fault for this mess afterall.

But none of that mattered right now. He had to get Xisuma back to Hermitcraft as soon as possible. 

It should be safe. 

It had to be safe. 

The hermits had always done their best to protect his little brother. There was far more about them all than one could assess with one glance. 

If he could just get back there before Xisuma’s injuries became too much for his body and Ex’s little available magic could defend against. 

If Xisuma died here there was no telling what would happen.

There were reasons the tunnels had mainly faded into voidwalker legend not even known outside of their endangered culture.

Those who traveled through injured were never heard from again.

Whether this meant they’d fallen or succumbing to injuries here meant permanent death. Ex wasn’t sure. He didn’t want to find out.

If the rumors were false though and you could survive death here. 

Being back there would be just as bad.

He lifted up Xisuma tightening his grip on his brother, a groan leaving Xisuma’s bluing lips showing he was still there at least if only faintly.

They would survive. He would get Xisuma home safely even if it killed him in the process.
