Located at the foot of Mount Ulía in San Sebastián, GOe-Gastronomy Open Ecosystem has opened its doors as a new international hub for gastronomy, innovation, and collaboration, and while the finishing touches are still being made to the rooftop park and surrounding landscape, the building is already alive with activity, hosting a range of events from science-driven food talks to hands-on cooking workshops 🍽️
Designed for Basque Culinary Center, GOe brings together chefs, researchers, and entrepreneurs to explore how food can shape a healthier and more resilient future. The building is wrapped in Corten steel, composed of stacked volumes that shift with the hillside to create a stepped terraced roof for the public. Along these cuts and recesses, large openings reveal the kitchens, labs, and classrooms inside, positioning GOe as an open and accessible environment where the daily life of the building remains visible from the outside. 📸 Francisco Tirado
