Magic always comes at a cost… what price does your character have to pay in order to practice it? What kind of trade-offs are involved?
Because of her elven heritage, she's naturally gifted in light magic. Her magic is stronger during the day where the sun provides a strong light source which she can manipulate. She can use her magic at night time or even in darkness but she would most likely have to conjure the magic from within herself, And that could be very draining for her. Furthermore if light magic is used incorrectly the user can burn themself, similar to fire magic.
If they have a magical gateway, does. their magic shape it? For example, the pool of water in Asra’s oasis and the fact that he travels to it is by way of bodies of water is likely representative of his affinity for water magic.
Light has a big influence in her magical gate way, she can access it by manipulating light to create her gateway. I like to imagine that inside her gate way is a very lush, green forest with sunlight streaming through the trees. Inside that forest is a dilapidated building and in that building are portals made up of light that can take you anywhere in the realms. The portals themselves look like stained glass windows that depicts the realm it will transport you to. (Its like Mario 64 with the paintings 🖼 lol)
