getting sick was the absolute worst and you always seemed to get sick when you had something planned, so you when you canceled said plans you felt like a douche cause it was always the same reason.

the plans you had to cancel this time though involved a certain incubus who didn’t really think it was serious considering he had no idea what being sick actually was.

you heard the riff form out in the living room and sat up in bed sniffling and holding back a cough that would definitely send you into a coughing fit.

“deviant?” you could heard gavin call out to you. you tried to respond but ended up just coughing, which unintentionally guided him into your bed room.

“are—are you alright?” he asked with a cautious tone in his voice, like the simple action of speaking to you would send you into another fit.

“i’m dying” you said jokingly in a horse voice before laying back down.

gavin’s face suddenly goes pale and it’s as if he’s seen a ghost. you don’t realize it but gavin genuinely thinks you’re dying and he can’t do anything about it. he crouches at the side of the bed to be down at your level before speaking again in a now very concerned voice.

“freelancer, you’re going to be okay. i-i think i know some healing magic that could help, i’m a little rusty but i’m not letting you die, you can’t leave me yet it’s too soon—”

it then clicks in your very fuzzy brain that gavin actually thinks your dying and you realize maybe the joke was in poor taste considering he probably doesn’t know what being sick is since he is a being of pure magic.

“oh gavin no” you sit up quickly. “i’m okay, i’m sorry i’m not actually dying i’m just sick and feel like i am. i’ll be okay i promise”

gavin let’s out a sigh of relief before hugging you tightly.

“heavens above freelancer you scared me, i thought i was going to lose you” he says rubbing your back.

you melt into his soft touches, his body is so warm while yours feels so cold currently no matter how many blankets you stack on top of yourself.

“i’m sorry gav” an idea pops into your stuffy head and maybe it’s the cough medicine but it seemed like a really good one.

“hey since we can’t go out tonight and you’re really warm and can’t get sick and i’m really cold we should stay in to cuddle and watch a movie” he’s so warm you honestly hope he says yes.

“that sounds great deviant” he says has he climbs into the bed with you.

“awesome, i wish i could crawl under your skin and become one with you”

you stunned him to silence as he pauses his movements.

“uhhhh”

“sorry! medicine is making me a little loopy” good save blame it on the medicine. “it’s been a rough week”

“it’s tuesday”

“either way get in here” you pull him in so your head rests against his chest and you grab the remote for your tv.

“what would you like to watch? how about an old classic?” you say as you hover the remote over ‘the princess bride’ to which gavin nods and you happily click on.

“what’s this movie about?”

“don’t worry about it, you’ll love—” a sneeze cuts you off before you can finish. “—it. it’s one of my favorites”

is it wrong to say that your sick date was one of gavin’s favorites? he got to be snuggled up to you and he learned and or discovered what his favorite movie was.

AN: this is tooth rotting fluff I was in a lovey mood so here you go :^]

His hands were unbearably soft, my poor skin subjected to his beautiful taunts as he loved me so deeply with his softness so foreign and forgiving.

I never really believed in karma, was never really superstitious to begin with. But as me and Gavin sway in the kitchen with some old song in the background I think this is a wonderful reward for living.

Living just a bit more.

Gavin was a wonderful dancer, I’ve seen how he moves so elegantly in a way that captures the attention of everyone. I’m quite lucky then that I am the only one in the audience now, even as he only spins slowly and lazily his little laughs and smiles are worth more than any dance. He truly just shines light on the stars, twinkling and lighting up the dark. It’s hard for me to say, I’ve never been a talker, not enough for me to convey what I feel.

So I can only rest my head on his shoulder, hopefully he breathes in my love as most daemons do, I want Gavin to fill his artificial airways and hopefully he can understand how deep these feelings go.

I want to be tortured by his gentle kisses as he peppers my cheeks.

I want to be mauled by his arms as he holds me when i make breakfast for the two of us, his bed head adorable and flopping around while he whispers sweet nothings into my ear.

I want to have my sorrow demolished when he presses up against me as we sleep, even for the smallest moment in time I could feel truly safe.

To feel his steady heartbeat against my own chest, to tether myself to his breaths when he sleeps so peacefully. Then I’ll drift of to join him, and we would wake up tangled and my heart will skip a beat when I see his face again.

His beauty always seemed to grow every morning, if this continues I might die.

“See something you like hot stuff?” Gavin draws me out of my thoughts with a sly smile, I guess I was caught staring at his face. Pretty face…

Burying my own in his neck, cheeks heating up with embarrassment.

“Just lookin’.”

“More like ogling,” he spins and massages my neck, bridging his own against my shoulder. I feel his ribs move under my hand on his back.

“, y'know freelancer, it’s rude to stare.” He’s starting to tease me again, but I don’t mind.

“I think I’m allowed to admire you, you are my husband of course.”

“Aha right, still you were practically drooling at the sight. What were you thinking about?”

“You.” He pauses for a moment before sighing into me, leaning in heart to heart in unison.

“You’re such a lovebird, it’s oozing off of you right now.”

How could I not? How could I not admire the best thing in my life? The one person who gets me and loves me to my all.

Am I truly not allowed to love you to my very destruction, my love?

“Can’t help it, you just have to deal with my sappiness.” Smiling into his neck I can feel his cheeks were warm too.

“Oh noo, the horror. Why must you subject me to such horrors.” He teased me, sarcasm etching into his silly little words.

I wasn’t really listenting to the music anymore. We still span, rocked and held our hands.

I didn’t really care about the cookies we baked a while ago, laying preciously tantalizing as they cooled.

What were we even supposed to be doing now?
