Our first batch of chickens turned 1 year old today! Happy birthday to Henrietta, Emerson, Gareth, Bertie, Evie, Agatha, and Kylo!

Smidge decided to help us feed the alpacas this evening! Smudge was entertained, Rio was not amused!

Micah looks like he partied a bit too hard for Mardi Gras! XD

Lookit at this angel! After so many days of rain, everyone is glad to finally see the sun!

Poor Smudge and everyone else at the barn is tired of all the rain we've had over the last several days. Hopefully for all our sanity we'll see the sun again tomorrow!

It's amazing, as soon as the camera comes out it's the most fascinating thing on the field...for about two minutes. Then it's back to grazing!

Smidge has made themselves quite comfortable in the alpaca barn. They usually stick to the back aisle, but occasionally they get brave and end up in the hay racks! XD

Smudge makes the best faces when it's too bright out and the sun reflects off the snow. XD

Rio decided he would be Speed Bump tonight. XD

Sage and Leia had the right idea and made a little nest to stay warm. It never made it above freezing today!

Smudge and Smidge are getting to know each other a little bit better. It's hard to tell which is the bigger chicken! (Spoilers: it's Smudge)

We've had an interesting new year so far. Two of our chickens, Smidge and Augustus, decided they don't care for each other anymore and got into a knock down drag out fight yesterday. So Smidge is now a resident of the alpaca barn. The alpacas aren't sure what to make of their new roommate!

She's not quite a partridge in a pear tree, but Sage and all of us at Pendle Alpacas want to wish everyone a merry Christmas! 🎁🎄 ❄️
