random astrology observations i’ve made after reading so many charts 👀 — part 4
little reminder before i start: these are observations. i’m not saying everybody with one placement is automatically gonna act exactly like this because the whole chart changes everything , especially aspects + house rulers. these are just weird patterns i keep seeing enough that i started writing them down.
moon square mercury people can explain everybody else’s feelings perfectly and then suddenly become terrible at explaining their own. like they’ll understand why their friend reacted a certain way, pick apart someone else’s entire emotional situation, give actually good advice and then when they’re upset it turns into “idk it just annoyed me.” i’ve noticed there can be this disconnect where the feeling happens first and then their brain comes running behind trying to translate it, and sometimes the translation is wrong. one of my friends has this and i swear she will tell me she “doesn’t care” about something then spend the next hour explaining every detail of why it bothered her. and it’s not even always denial, sometimes they genuinely don’t understand the emotional reason until later. they can also say something very rational while visibly feeling the complete opposite which is why people sometimes get confused reading them.
saturn in the 2nd house people can have this weird thing where they feel guilty enjoying something if they don’t think they’ve “earned” it first. this is way beyond just being careful with money. it can be buying themselves something nice, relaxing, eating something expensive, taking time off, even accepting help. somewhere in their head there can be this little voice like “but did i do enough to deserve this?” and i’ve noticed they can be FAR more generous to other people than they are with themselves because giving something away feels justified but receiving or enjoying it can weirdly bring guilt. as they get older this placement can become really good financially because they understand value in a way other people don’t, but the lesson is also realising your life doesn’t need to be one long reward system where pleasure only comes after suffering.
sun in the 6th house people lowkey start feeling useless when they have absolutely nothing to do for too long. and i don’t mean they’re all workaholics because some of them procrastinate BAD, but there’s usually this need to feel useful somehow. even on a lazy day they might randomly start cleaning something, fixing something, researching something, helping somebody, planning the week like okay clearly my brain needs a job. i’ve seen this placement feel genuinely happier once there’s some kind of rhythm in their life. the funny part is they might complain about being busy and then when everything becomes too quiet they start feeling weird again. they need rest obviously but they also need to feel like they’re participating in their own life.
venus square uranus people can have a “type” until somebody comes along who looks NOTHING like it and suddenly none of their previous rules matter. this is one i’ve noticed so many times. they’ll tell you exactly what they like, sometimes down to hair, style, personality, whatever, then the person they get weirdly fascinated by completely breaks the pattern. i don’t think their attraction is as visual or predictable as they think it is because Uranus needs that little shock of “why am i even into you?” there’s usually something different about the person that wakes them up. and boredom can kill attraction faster than people realise here. the person doesn’t necessarily have to be chaotic, but there needs to be something they can’t completely predict after two conversations.
moon in the 2nd house people can hold onto random objects because of who gave it to them even if the actual object is useless. an old receipt, necklace they don’t wear anymore, a note, random teddy, perfume bottle with nothing left inside… logically there’s no reason they still need it but emotionally it has a whole story attached to it. one of my friends has this and she has stuff that i KNOW she would never buy today but because it’s connected to a certain time/person it’s basically untouchable. i think physical objects can become emotional storage for them. this is also why losing something sentimental can upset them way more than the monetary value would ever explain.
mercury square jupiter can make somebody exaggerate accidentally because they genuinely remember the POINT of the story more than the exact details. like it was probably 7 people but in their memory it was “literally everybody.” it happened three times and now it was “every single time.” and i don’t always think they’re deliberately lying, their mind naturally zooms out and remembers the overall feeling/meaning, so the little factual details start getting stretched. but these people can also be ridiculously entertaining storytellers because they know how to make something sound interesting instead of telling you every boring detail in chronological order. you just might have to mentally subtract like 20% sometimes.
4th house ruler in the 11th can make someone build a second family through friendship. i don’t mean “my friends are like family” in the casual way everybody says it either. i mean their friends can literally become part of their home life, know their family, sleep over constantly, be there during private situations, know stuff people outside the household wouldn’t usually know. sometimes it happens because they never fully felt like they fit into the emotional environment they were born into so later they become extremely intentional about creating their own sense of belonging. and i’ve noticed they can be very protective over certain friendships because losing that friend feels way deeper than just “we don’t talk anymore,” it can feel like losing part of their emotional home.
mars in the 7th house people can attract people who want to debate them over EVERYTHING, even when they weren’t trying to argue in the first place. they can literally say something normal and somehow somebody turns it into a competition. there’s something about their one-to-one energy that wakes Mars up in other people, so they can attract very assertive personalities, people who challenge them, competitive friendships/relationships, or people who suddenly become much more bold around them. but the funny part is they can secretly enjoy a little bit of pushback too. not disrespect, but someone with zero backbone can eventually become boring because they need to feel like there’s another whole person standing across from them.
neptune in the 3rd house can make someone remember a conversation completely through the vibe and then realise later they forgot half of what was actually said. they’ll remember that somebody seemed sad, the room felt weird, there was music playing, they felt uncomfortable, but ask for the exact sentence and suddenly it’s blurry. this can also make them VERY sensitive to the way something is said. you can technically say the nicest sentence ever but if your tone feels off they’ve already picked up another message underneath it. sometimes they’re right, sometimes they fill in too many blanks, which is why i always think this placement needs to actually ask “what did you mean by that?” instead of spending six hours building a whole explanation alone.
jupiter conjunct the MC people can have others expect something BIG from them before they’ve even decided what they want to do. teachers, family, random adults, managers… somebody is always like “you could really go far” and meanwhile the person is sitting there like okay but where exactly am i going. there can be this weird public projection of potential onto them. and i’ve noticed even when they mess up, people sometimes give them another chance because there’s this assumption that there’s more in them. the pressure side of it isn’t talked about enough though because being seen as capable can become exhausting when you’re still figuring yourself out.
chiron in the 1st house can make compliments hit a little weird sometimes because they’ve probably spent so long being aware of whatever makes them “different.” somebody can compliment the exact thing they used to hate and their first reaction is almost suspicion like wait… you actually LIKE that? i’ve noticed the feature/personality trait that made them feel exposed earlier in life can slowly become part of what makes them memorable later. and this doesn’t have to be physical either. maybe they were called too quiet, weird, awkward, sensitive, loud, whatever. eventually that same trait can become something somebody else genuinely loves about them, and it almost forces them to rewrite the story they had about themselves.
2nd house ruler in the 5th can be HORRIBLE for the “it’s just a little treat” mindset. because enjoyment and spending become way too connected. clothes, food, beauty stuff, hobbies, dates, concert tickets, games, creative supplies… they can justify spending because it improves their mood and technically they’re not wrong, but the bank account might disagree. on the better side though i’ve noticed these people can actually make money through something they genuinely enjoy because the house of resources is feeding into creativity, entertainment and self-expression. they tend to value having enough money to actually enjoy being alive, not just enough to survive.
moon conjunct ascendant people can walk into a room saying absolutely nothing and everybody already knows something is wrong. genuinely one of the worst placements for trying to act unbothered. their face/body language exposes them before they’ve decided whether they even want to talk about it. and people can become weirdly emotionally responsive to them too, like if they’re excited the room feels more excited, if they’re uncomfortable somebody starts asking if they’re okay. one person i know with this will insist she’s completely fine and i’m like babe your FACE has already submitted a full written statement. there can also be this thing where strangers read softness or familiarity into them and start telling them personal information way too early.
pluto in the 2nd house people can go through phases of completely changing what they care about owning. i’ve seen this placement become deeply attached to certain possessions and then one day purge half their room because suddenly none of it represents them anymore. their relationship with money/self-worth can be very all or nothing too. there can be periods where security becomes almost obsessive and then another period where they realise they were using possessions or achievement to feel in control. the deeper theme is usually learning that having something and being valuable are not the same thing.
moon opposite mercury people will sometimes tell you the facts of what happened while completely leaving out the part where they were devastated. you’re listening thinking oh okay that sounds annoying and then two hours later find out they cried about it. there can be this strange separation where the storytelling voice is much calmer than the actual emotional experience. and then other times the opposite happens where the emotion takes over and they can’t explain the facts in the right order at ALL. i’ve noticed these people communicate their feelings best after they’ve had time to let the emotional reaction settle because trying to talk while they’re still in it can make them feel even more misunderstood.
5th house ruler in the 8th can turn a little crush into a whole psychological investigation so fast. not even because they’re necessarily obsessed, they just stop being satisfied with knowing the cute surface things. suddenly it’s what was your childhood like, what scares you, why did you react like that, what’s your relationship with your parents, what do you actually want from life. and this can make romantic attraction feel much deeper than the situation technically is yet because they’re already connecting through private information. casual dating can get very un-casual internally for them once somebody genuinely gets under their skin.
sun square ascendant can create the funniest gap between how somebody THINKS they come across and how everybody else describes them. they might genuinely think they’re being friendly and somebody says they looked intimidating. or they think they seem quiet and everyone else is like no you have a massive presence. there can be this lifelong adjustment between their actual identity and the packaging people meet first. i’ve noticed it gets easier with age because eventually they stop trying so hard to force the two to perfectly match and just accept that first impressions will never contain the whole person anyway.
saturn in the 9th house can make someone take YEARS to settle on what they actually believe because they don’t like believing something just because everyone around them does. religion, spirituality, politics, education, morality, even their idea of what a “good life” is… they can question it deeply. sometimes they start out quite rigid because they’re repeating whatever system they were taught, and then adulthood becomes this slow process of asking “wait but do i believe that?” once they finally build their own worldview though, it tends to be very considered because they didn’t arrive there overnight.
venus conjunct mercury people can get away with saying something that would sound rude coming from somebody else. there’s usually something about delivery that softens it. they’ll say something cheeky, blunt or slightly shady and somehow people laugh instead of getting offended. obviously other chart factors matter because some of them can absolutely still start arguments, but there tends to be a natural awareness of wording, humour, storytelling or knowing how to make something sound nicer. and i’ve noticed people can develop crushes on them literally from talking. you might not even initially think they’re your type then suddenly you’ve been talking for four hours and now you’re looking at them differently.
10th house ruler in the 4th can have this weird thing where their private life affects their ambition WAY more than people realise. when home feels unstable, career motivation can completely disappear because their foundation feels off. but once their private life feels secure they can suddenly become ridiculously focused. i’ve also noticed some people with this placement care a lot about eventually creating a career that gives them control over their home life working from home, owning something, having flexible hours, being able to support family, whatever fits the rest of the chart. success doesn’t mean much if they hate the life they have to come home to.
mars square neptune can have people questioning their own anger after somebody has clearly annoyed them. they’ll be mad, then five minutes later “wait am i being dramatic?” then explain the situation and everybody else is like no you had a reason. there can be confusion around when they’re allowed to be angry, especially if they were taught that anger makes them difficult or selfish. i’ve also noticed the opposite version where they let little things slide for way too long and then suddenly reach a point where all the hidden frustration comes out at once. learning to react while something is still a small problem instead of waiting until they’re emotionally exhausted can change SO much for them.
11th house ruler in the 2nd can care way more about whether their friendships share their VALUES than whether they share the exact same personality. they can be friends with somebody completely different from them if the basic morals are there, but once they realise somebody is selfish, dishonest, disrespectful or values things they really don’t agree with, the friendship can start dying almost immediately. and sometimes money becomes a friendship issue too, not necessarily fighting over money, but noticing who always expects other people to pay, who never returns things, who is generous and who becomes weird the second resources are involved.
mercury conjunct saturn can remember criticism word for word for an actually ridiculous amount of time. somebody could’ve made one comment when they were 12 and part of them still hears it whenever they do that thing now. one of my friends has this and she can tell me exact phrases teachers said YEARS ago. but this aspect can also make somebody extremely intentional with their words later because they know how much one sentence can stick with someone. they’re often much funnier and more talkative than the stereotypical interpretation too, they just usually need to know they’re in an environment where they’re not going to be made to feel stupid for speaking.
and this is something i keep noticing in general: sometimes the placement people hate the most when they’re younger becomes the exact thing they learn how to use better than everybody else. difficult mercury placements can create incredible communicators because they had to THINK about communication. difficult saturn placements can create somebody ridiculously capable in that area because nothing came automatically. challenging venus placements can make somebody extremely self-aware about relationships because love forced them to learn. that’s why i don’t really like calling placements “bad” anymore after reading so many charts. sometimes the easy placement gives you a gift, but the difficult placement makes you actually learn how the gift works.
i love doing these random observations because charts start getting so much more interesting once you stop reading placements like separate definitions. sometimes i’ll be halfway through somebody’s reading and see two completely unrelated-looking placements repeating the SAME specific behaviour and that’s when i’m like yeah… there it is.
and the more charts i read the more i realise people are sooo much more specific than “leo likes attention” or “scorpio is mysterious” like astrology gets way better when you actually look at how everything works together.
part 5 eventually because my notes app is genuinely full of these atp 👀
