How had this happened? Was it by design or pure chance the two ended up locked in the room together?

“Well, it seems the doors are locked, I hope you have something to keep us entertained.” Kiara said, a small sigh escaping her lips. There was a great deal she could do about this predicament, but she just couldn’t be bothered. Besides, situations like these were interesting, if not a bit scandalous.

“Hmmm... Perhaps this is the only way we would have met, considering my utter disdain for most social interactions.” he retorted coolly, shuffling slightly backwards. His back soon hit a wall, and he leaned against it, getting comfortable. “It appears that I’ll have to wait until someone from the outside opens the door then... Very well then. I’ll engage you in conversation until then.”

“A master, I see. How fascinating. Were you part of a Grail War in your time? Did you win that war, perchance? Or are you part of the new generation of Masters, who flit around with little purpose?”

“Hmm...? Well, not always... Though in my case, I could rather easily catch you...” he intoned, wondering whether or not the shock value of summoning his wings would be worth it. Not right now, he decided.

He wordlessly noted her movements, cracking a brief smile internally. She was clever, attempting to put some distance between them in case he were to suddenly attack. His theory of her being a simpleton was gone... Indeed the person before him was far smarter than they wished to be seen as.

Icarus decided to humour her act, replying to her answer as appropriate. “I am simply... wandering. Indeed, the modern world holds many wonders to marvel at. Humanity has one foot planted firmly in the realm of the gods with their technology... If only this were to be available in my time...”

His reply was satisfactory in his eyes. The only thing left to do was to observe, and see how she would reply.

He stared at the door blankly, before knocking on it with an evident lack of energy. If a door were to be locked on his face, then there was truly little he could do about it, short of using a Noble Phantasm… Which was something he’d be reluctant to do.

“Entertained…? My apologies, but I really do not have anything that could help…” he replied, smiling innocently. He turned his pockets inside out to prove his point, and then returned them to their previous state. Indeed, his more polite personality was needed when dealing with this person, judging by her appearance…

“Any ideas about escaping this prison?” Icarus shivered at the mention of the word, even as he said it. Unpleasant memories came back to him, and he quickly quashed them, not letting anymore emotion slip.

“Short of breaking the door down? I do not. Oh well, could be worse I suppose.” She said, looking around. There definitely worse places to be locked in. Spying a chair, Kiara thought she might as well have a seat, twisting herself so she lay across it.

“Could be worse? Hmm, it’s entirely possible... At least it’s not a tower hundreds of feet in th-” he began to reply, before covering his mouth with his own hand. Too much information was never a good thing to divulge, especially not information of his past trauma.

He squinted at her for taking the only chair, before sitting on the ground cross-legged. Icarus stared at her flatly, before speaking once more.

“My name is I... Caster... Yes, that’s a more appropriate name for now. I do believe that constitutes the first part of introductions?”

It was a smart move. To send out a servant as a scout. Too bad she just so happened to be the prey in this collision. White knuckled but still, it seemed like a bad decision to make any sudden movements against an enemy servant. Their small physique was deceiving no doubt. Considering no one was attacking, it might be better to reason wouldn’t it?

She’d seen it happen before in school. Two friends fighting, only for one to act like a cowering doe innocent as could be. That usually solved the problem right? Relaxing her hands and taking them to her chest, the form of defeat seemed undoubtedly fitting for the bland girl. Shaking voice with pleading words just further made the exchange more pathetic.

“P-Please..! I really don’t want any confrontation! M-my servant isn’t even here! L-Look! I.. I‘m defenseless! I-I.. I just--”

Oh what a career she could make as an actress.

Icarus stared flatly at the girl grovelling before him. Truly, it was hard to believe this was even a master... So very bland. So very unintimidating. It was actually rather likely that he would have never even noticed her if she’d kept up a normal attitude...

“You really shouldn’t worry about me, child. I don’t mean any harm... currently, that is. So... Your show of helplessness is rather unnecessary. Nobody would ever be that pathetic, and yet still have the courage to not run with their tail tucked between their legs.”

He straightened up slightly, trying his very best to reduce the difference in their heights. An assessment of the person before him would be difficult considering how little they’d interacted, but already he was putting some theories together. The person before him was probably shrewd, putting on a show of helplessness in order to understand her odds and analyse every aspect of the situation.

Or perhaps they were just a simpleton the likes of which he had never seen.
