If you’ve been following this tumblr for a while you probably know that I like Japanese girl idols and in particular the 90s synthpop duo Wink and that I periodically get sucked into marathoning videos on youtube, and right now I’m watching this compilation video someone put together of a bunch of their performances. And I can’t get over the costumes??? I’m particularly in love with the “ornamental top, huge flare skirt” combination of One Night in Heaven, it’s just so stylish ahhhhhh and they both look so good with that styling!!! Same kind of look going on with this Aida Shoko solo appearance, such ridiculous OTT top half paired with a wide skirt, I love it. Wink also wore some ridiculously awesome hats.

Tangentially related: I don’t really follow idol groups these days but I saw Ahn Yujin in the Panorama MV and she might be the most beautiful human being on the planet at the moment, she looks like a supermodel. She should go to Hollywood.

Tanaka Yuri - Kage ni natte

I was thinking to myself that this song sounds like the ending theme for a late 70s/early 80s anime about sexy adults doing crimes (Lupin III perhaps) and then I discovered that it's actually a remake of a song Matsutoya Yumi released in 1979. Anyways, it's sad and funky and I like it.
