Where apples are nuts

After years not using a digital program to sketch and draw my stuff… I decided to warm up myself and sketch something simple with one of my newest characters. Hummus the Jackalope!

I know is just a simple furry but after struggling with my own self these years and overthinking plenty of things, I found out that I am still into furry art, the first kind of art I drew since I was a child. 

So the WU comic won’t be a thing anymore and I’ll work in a simplier comic with my newest OC’s like Hummus and her friends, maybe you’ll spot some of the WU characters I designed but as furries, sorry not sorry.

Name of the comic? something hella stupid.. Furrest Grumps *gasps in spanish*

I still need to check better how to modify the properties of the brushes before I start working in the coloring and lineart of this sketchie I made tonight.

This time I had a chance to doodle and give some colors to my Jackiepone!

I don’t have any illustration programs in my laptop so I just did it all traditional but… I forgot how to colour, so it ended messy.

So here ya go, lil colored doodle of my Jackiepone!

Three characters this time!

We’ll start with Sara! For sure all you don’t know but she’s the first oc I ever made. Since 1995 aprox. Yes! long time ago! Yes, she’s fucking furry! I just remember she started so cute and adorable as heck, the kind of sweet gir who wears fancy doll alike dresses and big ribbons on her head.

Now she’s a fucking bitch. <3

Then here’s Tex.

As always a young man who loves to wear his old hat (I still have problems drawing hats). Damn, I decided to make shorter his hair but not so short and demn big “bunny alike” teeth!

And expect him to have some silly moments, as always he does!

And now the turn’s for Heloise.

Yeah, another furry, sorry not sorry. But it’s being years I don’t draw her, practically like 7 years? or more?, what ever. I guess she’s the one who didn’t change it was more like my style’s the one that changed. Well, her muzzle changed a lil, she used to have more of dog alike muzzle and this time I tried to make it slightly different.

And something about her… she’s hella shy.

There will be more characters to sketch, for sure will be between Hibai, Sanya, Damian and Lisbeth, maybe others.

The paper sheet was giving me problems while trying to correct the details. 

Of course I just made his hair messier than usual and he keeps the stubble but damn, are these fangs?!

Meanwhile jackalopes will look a little more like rabbits and hares in real life.

For sure some of you are noticing that the sketches are cropped. Well, I just wanna keep them as a lil sneak here ‘cause I’m planning to post the whole sketches in Patreon (when I have one)

Yeah, Dan still has his messy hair, I can’t imagine him without it. His fangs, let’s say it’s a family thing, huehuer.

I thought it’s better to make the jackalooes look alike rabbits and hares in real life except that they’re omnivorous and like to hunt sometimes. Not all people can understand them due to the fact that their language is more of gutural sounds, growls and screechings, like if they’re complaining at everything. Maybe they’re wild feral critters but still love to be with humans and other critters.

I decided to work again in the redesign of Daphne and Memphis and tonight got few free time to sketch them.

So this time, I wanted Daphne to have other kind of haircut and the flower hairpin is back, and of course gave her again a simple and common shape of head instead the somewhat square face she had in her other design. I decided to leave that kind of “triangle” shape for the nose, dunno why but I’ll keep that kind of noses in my human oc’s; I really like it. 

And about Memphis, he’ll be a lil fluffy as fuck nubkitten, and angry as always.

Gotta try to work in other of my oc’s this friday and I’ll try to start sketching the ideas for the comic of them.

I need to install my tablet, damnit!

A cousin of mine was diagnosed with cancer in his tongue and jaw a year ago, he was o therapy, receiving chemos, doctors removed his tongue and part of his jaw, kept the chemos and some meds.. yesterday during December 15th afternoon, my cousin passed away. The hospital scheduled a new therapy/meds to treat his cancer for February 2018… 

My cousin didn’t make it… Fuck you cancer, you took a good person with you, he did not deserve to die!

Just writing this to let you all know I am still alive and fine. For those who were worried because of the earthquakes in my country (Mexico) I don’t live in any of these cities/towns where the earthquakes made the horrible damages.

I fell sick for weeks and at same time felt depressed because of lots of negative feelings in me but I feel better and started to have people asking me to make amigurumis (crochet dolls) making me get busier than usual.

Amigurumis are time consuming and tonight I finished the third of 3 amigurumis (a giraffe, a minion and a bighead guy).

Right now I got asked to make another one (a ballerina) that I need to have it done this monday to send the package of the 4 toys between monday-tuesday.

I need to work in a lot of other amigurumis and in a logo for the lil online shop I wanna create for my amigurumi toys and hope I can finally have a chance to start working in the doodles for my askblog @applesinthegrass and of course to write the patterns of some of the amigurumis I wanna make.

Yeah, I still have doubts about the name for the shop. I’m between Kiutgurumi (Kiut[cute] + Amigurumi) and Amibrijes (Amigurumi + Alebrijes[Mexican folklore critters])

Sorry again for neglect so much tumblr lately and hope all of you are ok.

Right now I’m working in a Stitch amigurumi and hope I can finally work in the logo of Amibrijes after finishing Stitch.
