*prays that my sarcasm is well received when texting a new person*
Honestly, I get that people get overwhelmed with life. Everything seems weird and confusing and one day it's something and then the next day something else happens to change what it was.
But it's ok. It really, really is. Because at the end of those weird days we're still us. Changing, yeah, but changing slower. Changing at a pace that we can understand- either today or tomorrow.
And that gives us that rock we need to hold on to the crazy tide of 2018 until it takes us to 2019 and to much better things in life.

âCan you understand? Someone, somewhere, can you understand me a little, love me a little? For all my despair, for all my ideals, for all that â I love life. But it is hard, and I have so much â so very much to learn.â
â Sylvia Plath
From the cover of Algebra and Trigonometry. Addison-Wesley, 1984.
âBe kind, resourceful, beautiful, friendly. Have initiative, have a sense of humor, tell right from wrong. Make mistakes, fall in love, enjoy strawberries and cream, make someone fall in love with you. Learn from experience, use words properly, be the subject of your own thoughts. Have as much diversity of behavior as any human being. Do something really new.â
â Alan Turing, âComputing Machinery and Intelligenceâ, p. 447. Turing proposed this list of behavior for theoretical artificial intelligence in 1950. Sounds like pretty solid life advice for people, too.
