#Aarhus = architecture. With churches tracing back to the 1100s, the city is also looking to its future, most recently in the revitalized harbor area: +The Iceberg, by Louis Paillard, is a series of residential high-rises that reflects just that. +Copenhagen’s Dorte Mandrup Arkitekter urban sculpture “The Sailing Tower has a functional purpose, too, with peek holes serving as viewpoints in shard-like observation tower. They are also a nod to portholes of ships. +Danish architects Schmidt Hammer Lassen helmed the final 2 in this series. The relatively new, massive library—the largest in Scandinavia—sits above a new train station. And the modern art arm of the ARoS, based on Dante's "Divine Comedy” with its 9 levels, from basement to top crowned by Olafur Eliasson’s “Your rainbow panorama.” Aarhus is the second largest city in #Denmark with 310,000 inhabitants (by comparison, the US counterpart is LA boasts bursting at nearly 4 million!). #AplusR #lifebydesign #architectural #buildings #cityplanning #cityoffuture

Walking in a #rainbow. "Your rainbow panorama” is just that, colorful, circular walkway without glass windows in all colors of the spectrum. Mayor’s Convention: #SpaceCopenhagen were not shy in celebrating #ArneJacobson’s most iconic sofa, the Mayor, when re-imagining his most iconic #hotel, #RadissonBluRoyal in the heart of #Copenhagen. The designers sheathed the 2-seater version in a whimsical floral. Move over Mayor. Perhaps the duo behind @SpaceCopenhagen didn’t consider the need for a spare bed for a kiddo when they recently re-fitted the rooms at the iconic Radisson Blu Royal Hotel! The #MayorSofa is a nod to the hotel’s original architect + designer #ArneJacobson, who conceived of every detail, from drawer pull to rooftop (and he designed this sofa originally for the city hall). The sofa, smoked oak coffee table, frosted Copenhague light and mirror series are all now made by local #designhouse @AndTradition. #SpaceCopenhagen did their predecessor justice: gorgeous hotel.
