if you zoom in on ned then spider-man brand new day is literally like what if you felt your heart reaching out for another person so fondly and fiercely that you build an app that connects millions of people just so you can know where he's been and you want to find out who he is behind his many masks just so you can say thank you (and be safe and i love you) and you have a secret handshake in the well of your memory and a lego figurine on your desk and there's another aspect of those memories that your mind can't really hold onto but you keep trying to build a life around those empty spaces and then one day you're eating a sandwich and a man tells you his name and oh.... how could you ever have forgotten your best friend?

AND ONE MORE THING!!! peter telling mj about them kissing while she was possessed wasn’t cheesy or out of character!!!! in fact, it’s the most in-character thing ever because powers or not, peter’s a really really good kid. and look at how that turns out for him—mj ends up giving him a crucial piece of information about the aftereffects of jean’s possession shtick, which then leads to him saving jean—and by extension, delaying her descent into madness for at least a little while longer—and allowing her to get proper closure about her sister’s death, which then leads to him having an extremely powerful ally that will definitely come in clutch in the future. and the best part is? he doesn’t even think about any of this!! the only thing he’s concerned about is that he messed up, another person is now being wrongfully incarcerated/tortured for it, and he’s going to try his damndest to fix it because may is right, great responsibility does come with great power.

the movie showing how jean can feel whatever her “host” is feeling can only mean that during all those excruciating hours that peter was on the surgical table and she was the only thing keeping him alive, she very probably felt everything—every needle, every stitch, every poke and prod. and yet she stayed because peter promised her she wouldn’t be alone anymore, so she’s sure as hell gonna make sure he won’t be either.
