I don’t think the mistakes revolved much around CeCe, mostly just Sara. and the marion thing

As Marlene King said, “We knew in the beginning that we couldn’t sustain the series on one “A.” We let Mona be the original A, and let the audience guide us on how far we could go before answering that one question. I did not plan on dragging it out as long as possible.” - Source

So let me just point out a few big plot holes in this show after last night’s episode to further showcase how she REALLY did not plan on dragging this show out because wow, talk about a mess!

1.) Jason meets Cece for the first time in school:

But remember she was in the yearbook voted as PROM QUEEN and was even in drama and debate club. Um, how would Cece even win high school prom in a school she never attended? 

2.) As we found out in the S6 summer finale, Marion was already admitted to Radley the same time young Bethany and young Charles were. 

Then Bethany pushed Marion off the roof and blamed it on Charles who was around 9-12 years old, but DEFINITELY A LOT OLDER than Ali and Marion’s son, Toby, right?

SO HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THIS SCENE BETWEEN TEEN TOBY AND TEEN ALI IN THE FLASHBACK WHEN THEY WERE CAUGHT BY MARION?

Shouldn’t she be already dead? AND then we learn during this flashback that Marion was JUST admitted to Radley. Even though in the finale, we saw her in Radley already with Charles and Bethany. 

YIKES. 

And last plot hole…

Cece said that Wilden changed the report for Marion’s death. Based on last night’s episode, Marion’s death took place when Cece/Charles was still a kid. Wilden and Cece are around the same age, maybe Wilden is a few years older but still would make him a teenager if Charles was only around 9-12 during Marion’s death. So it can’t be possible for Wilden to change the report because he would have been way too young to be a cop! 

So there it is. Those are just some major plot holes and I’m sureeee there are many more but I won’t include all of it. Apparently there are two timelines going on where Marion died when Charles was in his 20s. Or the timeline where Marion died when Charles was a kid. This is a pretty big screw-up and very embarrassing. (Or wishful thinking is that Marion didn’t die when Bethany pushed her off the first time, lol but I don’t think so…)

I was happy about transgender Charles/Cece and all that after letting it sink in for me last night, and Vanessa Ray’s acting was fantastic. BUT WOW, the massive plot holes ruined it for me. If this all tied up together, I would have been amazed but the writing last night was a mess. Maybe Lucy was right, maybe the writers were drunk when they were writing this. It’s a little insulting too of Marlene that she would think the viewers would be fooled or not smart enough to figure this out. And that’s what angers me the most. She had us all believe that all questions would be answered. But what a friggin’ let-down that was. She claimed that all questions will be answered which is pretty far-fetched already seeing as this show’s writing isn’t as good as Breaking Bad, GOT, etc and the episode is only an hour long.

I don’t really understand why they didn’t just make Wren the big A. It would have made a lot more sense. And all the clues were pointing out to him which apparently those clues are pointless? “Nosey bitches”, Wren’s drawing, his moving to London where Spencer was also attacked by A. I don’t get why the writers passed up on such a great, logical opportunity. MAYBE he’s gonna be that big “he” in the time jump. Here’s to hoping again but honestly I don’t even have any expectations anymore because it’ll just lead to disappointment.

And no way in hell am I taking the excuse “Rosewood is a magical place, nothing is real in Rosewood, just focus on the redemption, etc…” No thanks. This show did mystery well in season 1 and season 2 without the defense of it being unrealistic. So what happened after that? The writers had no solid plan and if they did, then they planned it out poorly. 

1) We saw with Andrew, that the students fill out their own yearbook forms listing their clubs & activities. There’s a good chance CeCe did this and added prom queen to it. Why the school doesn’t double check, who knows. But we also learned from season 1 that the students do most of the yearbook work so maybe they just went with it for whatever reason.

2. This would have all made more sense if we seen them as older teens and at this point Charles would have already changed into CeCe. I really do think Marlene dropped the ball here because Toby clearly stated in 2x13 that his mom had died one year ago, meaning she died in 2007.

3. If Mar would have gotten the ages right it wouldn’t be odd that Wilden changed the Radley report. As when we seen him in 2x13 which takes place in 2008, he was a cop. He became a detective, after Ali disappeared.

They went with Toby, now according to Toby he only helped Mona to keep her safe, but according to Marlene he was in it since 1x06 the homecoming episode. Which could be what Toby was trying to tell her at the dance.

I think this is what happened, they had different options for Charles, I believe it was Wren , and leaks got out and they went with Cece.

Julian Morris tweeted he would be back as Wren.. he has to be “he” the liars are running from.

I think it’s possible Marlene re-shot the episode after the spoilers were leaked. It’s not fair because

a) I didn’t even read the spoilers 

b) I rather have a satisfying ending and one that makes sense even though I already know what’s going to happen, than having a really shocking reveal.

Why I think they re-shot the episode:

I don’t really have a problem with Cece being A, I have a problem with why she is A. Because the girls were “happy” that Ali was gone and her dad couldn’t accept who she was? C’mon they could’ve done so much better. (even though I think Wren would be a better A, if they had a good reason why Cece was A, I would’ve have been fine with it).

She dated her own brother, why was that necessary? 

Jason saw her that night in a yellow top & she was in the Rosewood yearbook, she was Prom queen!

Why did she dress up as a man in the Dollhouse?

Marion was killed when Toby was still a child, but still she saw Toby and Ali almost kissing when they were teens.

What does Sara freaking Harvey got to do with all of this, she isn’t even a widow. What’s her motive?

Why did Cece need a visitors pass to go visit Mona if she was a a patient there as well?

When Charles was standing next to Spencer in the Dollhouse he was taller than Spencer but Spencer is taller then Cece.

Why did they make Wren so shady and why are there so many Wren-is-A clues. He was coloring a red coat for god sake

When did Cece have the time to have an operation?

When did she have the time to build the Dollhouse?

Where did she learn to hack and all that cyber stuff?

Why didn’t the show what happened to the moms, they aren’t even mentioned.

Wilden is about the same age as Cece, so how did he change Marion’s report to a suicide? Was he a kid cop?

Where were Tanner, Clark, Lorenzo, Ezra, Toby and Caleb?

How did Cece manage to spend the summer in Cape May and have a roommate, if she was only allowed out of Radley to go to classes.Surely she had to come back in the evening?

Keegan said that we would be able to go back to season 1 and it would all make sense. Cece didn’t appear until season 3
