4am is the worst time to be alone with your thoughts. Thin night air amplifying your senses. So deathly silent that you can hear the constant ringing in your ears. Overwhelming feelings of loneliness and sadness taking over your every thought.

The darkness is out tonight, out to infect your thoughts. You're never safe from it, it corrupts you, takes over, giving life to the seeds of dissent already sewn in your mind.

It's going to consume you one day, and you feel that day drawing in with every breath. The thoughts in your head slowly outgrowing the will to survive, the want to live.

I don't know how much longer I can quiet those voices, my reasons for fighting have long since left me. Maybe now is as good a time as any, after all, we all have to go someday.

I think maybe it's time to go.
