ORIGIN

Some years after Necrozma stole the light of Ultra megalopolis, someone (who’s name has long since been lost to the streams of time) decided that without their natural light, that the inhabitants of the area should decorate the area in their own light to increase morale, for at least a single day and a night (or rather, the time length of a day and night, as “Day” was something long since lost to their dimension). The people of Ultra Megalopolis put up anything they could find that emitted light, candles, artificial light, anything really. The tradition has carried on into present day, now dubbed “ ՅՐɿԳɧԵȝՏԵ ՌɿԳɧԵ ” AKA, Brightest Night. 

DATE

 The occurrence of Brightest Night is always someday between December 20th to the 23rd, changing almost every year (Or rather ‘Time-Cycles’, as Megalos do not technically use Years in there dimension). While the date is completely arbitrary and only marked by the scheduled of tradition, it also coincidentally falls on the day of the Pokemon Earths Winter/Summer Solstice, also known as (Depending on whether you live on the north or south hemisphere) the Darkest or Longest day of the year. 

DECORATIONS

 Almost anything that emits light is used as a decoration during Brightest Night, though older generations prefer to use candles rather than artificial light, as it’s seen as more “Traditional”. There is also many ornaments and such that reflect light as well, such as glass and crystalline prisms and mirrors. Some are very simple, such as one shaped as simple 3D shapes such as octahedrons, cubes, and pyramids, or just plain square mirrors. There is also much more ornate decorations such as fancy looking mirrors and prisms shaped to look like different things such as the Megalo Tower or Poipole. Some ornaments that are often very popular with younger children are even shaped like Necrozma, though older generations sometimes put them up as a sign of reverence.

FOOD

 In the time that the holiday was still young, people would pool their resources together to have a grand feast of the rare fresh foods such as fruits and vegetables. In modern society, this food is often donated by the Ultra Reconnaissance Squad. This ranges from common berries such as oran, pecha, and so on gathered both from lab grown samples and brought back from the Ultra Wilds, strange food brought back from ultra beasts worlds (tested to be safe for the megalo peoples consumption, of course), and other miscellaneous food they can provide.
