“ i recall not having a choice of who to tend to at the time. ” with the change in leaders, how could she have refused when nereids were asked to tend to poseidon? better her than her younger sisters, for she had no desire of seeing any involved with the god if they did not want to. older, wiser, and calmer, the apparent choice had always been her before they considered any of her other sisters. “ i’d much prefer a life away from the gods, but what can i do? one does not just leave service like that. ”

galene knew not to be offended each time something happened, always rather just caught in the crossfire than being deliberately hurt. water could be as soft as it could be tough, a lesson one better learned sooner rather than later. “ you should not. ruling is far from easy but it does not mean he is not responsible for his actions. i know he tends to lash out and i have learned to not take it to heart. ” she was not good at bearing grudges anyway, too gentle, too set on peace to be able to do so. “ i suppose it is just the hazard of my own position. calming the waters comes with its dangers. ”

“ poseidon was in a bad mood. that is all. ” or rather all she wished to say about the matter. it was not uncommon for her to get caught up in whatever had gotten the god angry, but it still did not mean injuries were enjoyable, especially when inflicted by a higher god. it was more difficult to heal from. “ you know what he can be like. ”
