The results for the re-watch that me and @fitzsimmonsavengers have planned are finally here and they are as follows:
Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who participated, we received 81 responses overall, which was many more than either of us were expecting. Using the answers that you gave, we have been able to plan the re-watch. And because who doesn’t love a good graph, I present the results!!!
100% of you wanted the re-watch, and honestly, thank you so much because, without you all, this would never be possible!
We got a wide variety of responses for this and for the majority of the weeks, 4 episodes shall be the way. HOWEVER, some weeks have five, and there are several reasons for this.
Timing. This was our main issue as we wanted to be finished before the beginning of May (and have the first 2 seasons re-watched before the end of the year), so to make everything work, some weeks will focus on five episodes.
Pods and finale. We thought that it was best we don’t leave anyone hanging for certain episodes, and we wanted to finish s2 before the new year so we had to do 5 a week occasionally.
Overall, 4 episodes will be the focus, and you can watch all four in one evening, two in an evening, or one a day. We have no set days or times for each episode to watch, and if you fall behind, worry not as there are weeks when there are no eps that will be focused on, so there’s plenty of time for you to catch up!
I also want to shout out the person who said they could do 18 a week! That is dedication!
This might be the one that you’re most excited for! With the results, the start date is now confirmed to be 24th September, six years after the season 1 premiere! Yep, we are going back to the start people! With it being such an important date, it felt fitting to offer this choice, and I am so glad so many of you agree.
The next set of questions confirmed that people liked the idea of everything we offered in terms of celebrating the episode, and more, as well as breaks throughout the re-watch so in the next section, how it will be done will be broken down.
Each week we’ll post which episodes will be watched and celebrated e.g. 24th Sept to the 30th Sept will be episodes 1-4, 1st Oct to 7th Oct will be 5-9. And during that week period, you can do whatever you want to celebrate those eps. Write throwback fics, make gifs and fanart, write your thoughts and feelings and point out what you missed the first time around! Or if you don’t have the time or energy to create anything, you can go back through your blog and reblog old gifs/fics/fanart, etc that you were reblogging while you were watching these episodes.
Celebrate the episode and share the love whichever way works for you best. Each season will have a tag e.g. #aos rewatch s1 ect as well as the general tag #aos rewatch. Use those in the first 4-6 tags and we’ll help share the love but what we need is your help.
Share gifs and fic, communicate with others about what you love in the ep because we can’t spreading the love and helping to celebrate the show and everything about it without you!
Breaks will occur during US Thanksgiving, the Christmas and New Year period, and Easter as they were the most requested, so if you fall behind at any point you have time to catch up! And we’ll be letting you know the dates for the episodes on a season and weekly basis!
