Here are the results of the CaPri Week poll!

July won but only barely! It was 21 votes against 20;

All months mixed, a majority of you don’t have a preference for the time to hold the week. 

For July only, 8 say anytime is good and 7 say the end of the month would be best.

For August only, 8 say anytime is good (again) and 7 say the beginning of the month would be best.

So I thought… “Why not make the week overlap the end of July and the beginning of August?” This would mean that the CaPri Week will most likely be held from July 29 to August 4 (Saturday to Friday). I hope this works alright with the majority of you!

I will now proceed to work on the prompts so that the official announcement can go up in around a week! I have a few themes to work with, but don’t hesitate to send a message if you have some prompt ideas!

As we’ve seen, Yuuri’s very private. Hence, I think he’s always celebrated his bday with people who mattered, like his close family and friends, and they had a nice katsudon dinner together with a birthday cake. It’s a pretty simple thing, but Yuuri enjoys the intimacy and familiarity of his whole birthday. 

When he was in Detroit with Phichit, I don’t think he drastically changed. He probably spent the night before celebrating with his friends and acquaintances but on his birthday night, he probably Skyped his family and ate dinner with them. Phichit and his coach are actually considered part of the inner circle now, so they ate Skype dinner with the bday boy and his fam&friends.

However this year, the tradition is changed because of Victor’s appearance. Of course, Yuuri still celebrates with his family and friends and says thank you to his skating friends who PM him on SNS. 

He actually is put in a good mood by all the text messages and tweets sent to him by acquaintances and fans (MINAMI, I KNOW YOU’RE GONNA MAKE A GIGANTIC META ABOUT HIM OK.), alike. (Okay, even Yurio sent an indirect ‘happy birthday’ through Yuko). 

But the best part about his birthday this year? Victor. Victor Nikiforov, his idol, his coach, his lover,  is there, by his side, celebrating his birthday with him. 

And Victor is a romantic and a force of nature to be reckoned with especially when it comes to people he loves. At the buttcrack of dawn, he’s already awake. He’s already kissing Yuuri, greeting him, not wanting to be second to anyone in getting a greeting in. 

It, naturally, makes Yuuri’s heart swell because he wakes up to a smiling Victor. It’s a private thing between them - the morning of his birthday. It’s not Victor’s usual sunshine smile. It’s something smaller, but all the more genuine and special… a smile Yuuri knows is reserved for him. 

He’s also wearing that smitten look on his face, a soft, vulnerable, GENUINELY happy expression on his face that feels very much like a gift in itself. And Yuuri just melts at being the direct recipient of it… because it’s beautiful and Victor practically is glowing… and Victor with his cheek to his palm as he lightly caresses Yuuri’s face, greeting him a good morning and a happy birthday.

I can just imagine Yuuri’s breath catching in his throat because damn, he feels blessed and he just snuggles into Victor because he can and it’s early, and everything feels very surreal and he’s just… so freaking happy, he can’t even.

It’s too early for feels… but he can say with great confidence that his birthday this year is going to be the best so far.
