Anya,The Beauty Babe!

Okay, so I’m not as great as I should be about the whole blogging thing, but I’m going to try to get better! Anyway, time to get to the point of this blog post.

Today I started my new job as a Lash Stylist at Amazing Lash Studio. I was, of course, nervous at first. Would I do well? Would I like who I work with? Would they like me? Would I feel confident that I made the right choice?

While I’ve yet to meet everyone on the ALS team, I think it’s safe to say that the answers to all those questions are yes. I’m so looking forward to continuing my training, meeting new teammates and clients, and really getting to perfect my lash skills.

Life took a couple of turns so I haven’t been on this blog much at all, I’m so sorry about that! There’s been a few things that have happened since my last post though so let me give you all a brief update.

I graduated from Taylor Andrews Academy of Hair Design on October 16th, 2015 after 1600 hours of hard work and dedication. After that I took some time to build up my resume, had a few interviews and then life decided I needed a challenge in the form of my car breaking down. This made finding the salon atmosphere I wanted a whole lot harder, and despite my best efforts I wasn’t able to find anything close to home that could work with the schedule I needed.

So, I started thinking about what I could do to keep myself going so I didn’t become stagnant. I had entertained the idea of going to esthetics school as I was finishing my hours with cosmetology, but I hadn’t fully decided on anything yet. Well, with my predicament being what it was seemed like the best option, so I started researching. The second I made the official decision to go into esthetics it was like everything fell into place. I was able to get in quickly, get my fees paid for, and after close to seven months we finally figured out what was wrong with my car and got it fixed.

Man, this has been a crazy busy week! Eight clients this week, plus the State Board practical run through after getting home from BEACON in the wee hours. I’ve barely had a chance to catch my breath but I’ve discovered that that’s just how I like things.

Unfortunately next week is only a three day school week due to the Utah Pioneer Day holiday. That’s gonna be rough for this girl that’s been going nonstop for the last two weeks!

If you had told me this time last year that I would be on the fast track to an amazing career, a beautiful life and a stellar experience, I probably would have rolled my eyes, called you crazy and walked away.

It’s strange to think about how far I’ve come, both personally and professionally. In just a few short months I’ll be a graduated and licensed cosmetologist and I’ll be out in the great big world. But I won’t be alone.

I had the opportunity to meet and bond with some of the greatest minds in the business this past weekend, and was reminded that I have one of those people right at my fingertips. I heard amazing words of encouragement, understanding and support.

I’m very fortunate to go to a wonderful school and have incredible experiences much like the one I had this weekend at BEACON 2015. I’ve been inspired, validated and so much more. Now it’s time to step up my game and give this life my all.
