obsession (2026) is packed with upsetting details but i think there is one that can be interpreted in a number of ways. when bear opens his lunchbox and sees the polaroids, one with “you” caption, another one with “not me” caption. when it is true that it is real nikki’s way of trying to communicate i genuinely think that it is because she is worried about bear as a friend, perhaps because she thinks he might not have realized yet (even though he knew from the beginning), she tries to warn him that nikki he sleeps next to is not his nikki. it is not necessarily a cry for help but trying to save her best friend. the same friend who betrayed her from the very beginning.
