I nearly didn't take my camera out today when we went for a walk to New Brighton. Im glad I did as their was an older couple entertaining the kids with gigantic bubbles. They made for great photos as it was nice to see the kids enjoying themselves with the last bit of sunshine.

I was recently commissioned to take these series of shots of local artist Kate Chesters. To begin with Kate wanted hi-res images of her artwork, which I took 3 images of  each piece and used photoshop to stitch them together. We chose this method as we wanted to capture as much detail from her work as possible. This also meant it would give Kate the option to have bigger prints of her artwork if need be. It was a fast and fun shoot with a two light setup mostly bouncing from the white ceiling or walls. I could do shoots like this every day and I look forward to working with Kate agin.

So myself and Steve like to go to North Wales with our kit for a change of scene.  It was just one of those days that started off a bit low as I was sick and had to stop several times. I didn't intend to take shots of Steve flying his drone but I thought why not! After sifting through the images I thought I would get in touch with some drone magazines to see if they would be interested in publishing the images, and they were so in return we were credited and linked to our sites. It looks pretty good to me and is a lesson learned, if you don't ask you don't get

I recently collaborated with Katie from Squidges Bakery to generate images for my portfolio as well as gaining more clientele. We created some lovely shots that I feel really shows the quality of her products. It was refreshing to work with someone who was also excited by the process of food styling at a comfortable pace. Todays shoot was something a bit different to my usual commissions. I photographed consumer friendly heavy duty bags, covers and sacks for Britwrap. It was a bit tricky trying to get the speedlites in the right position as it was only a small house. But I feel like I got some great results and they are very happy with the results. Nothing better than a nice easy shoot!

Heres some shots from todays work shop with Profoto. It was a bit pointless as we covered techniques I already know about lighting. In my opinion it was nothing new and I can already achieve this when using a flashgun. To be honest it should have been about what the lights can do and not about how to light a model. Its a real shame I didn't get to see freeze mode in action, which was the purpose of me attending the work shop. Never mind eh.........

Just working on some more images for my portfolio

I have been meaning to photograph my props both on their own and in situ for a while. I decided to go with natural light partly because I didn't want to get my flashes out. I also used a scrim to soften the shadows even though it was an overcast day . The surface a vinyl marble roll, which I purchased off Amazon for around £10.99

I would kill to do a shoot with Range Rover in North Wales!

Went on a mission to north Wales today with Ste and Dave. I haven't done any off camera flash shots for a while, so it was nice to get back into it. Id love to get a commission for a lifestyle or editorial shoot in north Wales
