Kill me. Anything to free me from this dread. I hate my mom but it’s a sin to hate her. Every where I go people will tell me I need to learn to love my mother. I can love anyone but her. Just thinking about what she says to me makes me feel like peeling my skin off.
She came into my room to tell me I haven’t been cleaning the house as much and doing my duties. I ended up telling her not to come near me when she’s sick. I know she’ll get hurt by that. But I couldn’t mean it any less. Get away from me. Do not drag me down with you. Even if you see contempt in my eyes, it is in fact fear. You’ll ruin me and blame me for not accepting it with love. Go away please just don’t talk to me.
Let's be clear and honest for today as we celebrate Independence Day in the United States. How can we celebrate independence in a world intradependent. We are all connected. We are all valued. We are all unique and yet all the same. Division breeds comparison and fear. Only love can set us free. Love of ourselves in our imperfection and love for every other human being.
While the founding fathers wrote in the vernacular of the age, they had no idea of the power their words would carry as words change in meaning through time and deeper understanding of the those broader scope of the words. And for this it is unbelievable and accidentally completely accurate and true.
Still there are those who would close their eyes and ignore the truth. Power vs Force. Only the power of Love can free us from the love of power. Power comes and go. Force is always and will always be. Because in it is truth.
Freedom you say. How did this help the marginalized? How did it help the those of the first nation. The dark skinned? The women? The LGBTQ+? Who is truly free?
The United States is in crisis. Reaping what its independence wrought. Capitalism. Individualism, Materialism. Driven by pious, self righteous, patriarchy, misogyny, judgement guided by a male edited book driven by self serving concept and control. Who is truly FREE?
