So Parker Molloy is a horrible fucking person. This was her response to THIS comment, that acknowledges that Black Trans Women don't get the same amount of coverage when they are murdered:
Like how on earth am I supposed to read ALL OF THAT in response to "Black Trans women don't get the same treatment" and not look at this as anything other than a fragile white feminist having a meltdown because Intersectionality EXISTS.
YOUR FAVE IS ANTI NATIVE: PARKER MOLLOY
After being called out for her white feminist meltdown she used her platform to start the harassment campaign against an Indigenous woman who was called everything from a sexpest, pedophile, rapist, TERF, and when none of those could stick, FINALLY called a Pretendian.
White queer/trans folks are capable of racism and Anti-Indigenous hate.
The fact that they already know to use "Pretendian" to silence an Indigenous woman shows how intentional their malice and racism was.
If you want to know why I have been suspended on BSky for the past few weeks, this is why.
I'm a bit confused on the backlash to the very first part of this. "What really breaks my heart is that Black trans women are rarely if ever memorialized this way." So it doesn't break their heart that a trans woman was stabbed forty times? Racism is still very much a thing. Black people ARE less respected. We DO need to address this. However, I do feel what was said was very disrespectful. They didn't show any sympathy for the trans woman murdered, only said that Black people have it worse. Black people DO have it worse. I just feel it should have been addressed in its own post; not tacked onto a post about a murdered trans woman to detract from it.
I don't agree with her response afterwards as it is not a stupid take. One article doesn't undo the disproportionate reporting. However, I do feel the original comment should be addressed as disrespectful.
I am open for discussion. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding.
There are better qualified people to discuss this, so I won't say much. But the fact that you even erased the demographic in question (Black trans women, not just Black people) even just to ask this question really ought to reveal just how little consideration and care Black trans women get from their peers in comparison to the white ones that are mentioned. In addition to the Black trans women usually only getting notice after their fellow Black trans peers point it out.
I can see that it was insensitive and poorly mentioned, true, but it wasn't incorrect. Especially when we gotta hear a backlash from a racist about it, as if said racist ever gave a shit unless it was time to bring us up as a counterargument.
I apologize for erasing Black trans women from the conversation. It was not my intention. I was trying to include everyone affected by anti-Black racism, and not just Black trans women. That was my mistake. Thank you for acknowledging that it was insensitive and poorly mentioned. Being true doesn't change that. There are many true things that shouldn't be brought up in a specific situation. There's a time and place for everything.
I do have to ask if the woman in question actually sent people to attack the commenter or if she just so happened to have racist followers who did it on her behalf without her knowledge? If it's the latter, I don't think she should be held accountable for it unless she encourages it or doesn't speak against it after learning.
Thank you for responding.
So, because you seem open to discussion and being called in, I'm going to be patient with my response to this part of your comment:
"I do have to ask if the woman in question actually sent people to attack the commenter or if she just so happened to have racist followers who did it on her behalf without her knowledge?"
Consider this instead:
If she's posting shit like this, she's definitely racist or has a lot of unpacked racism:
Secondly:
even if she PERSONALLY wasn't like "I hate this Indigenous woman and I am going to personally use my platform in the hopes that people who hate Indigenous women are coming after her," the fact of the matter is, The Indigenous woman has to put up with ALL OF HER RACIST FOLLOWERS because of her.
She gets to block me and move on with her life. Meanwhile, everybody who came rushing to her defense or to dogpile me are now MY problem. And the comments I received were VIOLENT.
There are more. This is just a handful.
So you tell me, does it really MATTER whether her intentions were racist? If she was targeting me specifically for being Indigenous?
When people who came to her defense started attacking me for being Indigenous?
When they called me a pedophile, a sexpest, a rapist, a TERF, and then a Pretendian? All because of her?
Because I responded to her tirade by saying "I get what you're saying, but white women need to stfu?"
