i’m tired of wanting more

One thing that gets me about the rave scene is just how absolutely huge this shirt is on Isaac.  Like, the sleeves are hanging down over his hands and he’s fucking swimming in the thing.

If anything it looks like it might fit a certain dashing man built like a tank who happens to be known to wear and look daaaaaamn good in those style of shirts.

But seriously what if like… they actually DID get “werewolf married”? WHAT IF they go off and go to college and sort of heal from all of the SHIT that happened to them, and they feel like something’s missing? Like they still keep in contact with all of the Pack, they still keep in contact with each other, they learn to live without death hanging over them and they find people to date and to fuck and it’s generally GREAT but nothing sticks because… something’s missing???

(And they know it’s each other. They’ve lived in each others pockets since kindergarten, they know they miss each other. They talk almost every day still but they miss each other so much. They’re such pining idiots, but they realize it too late, that it’s always been THEM but that’s okay if it’s never anything other than friendship right??? Right.)

Then years later they all come home between semesters. They ALL come home. Everyone who’s left to come home returns, including Isaac and Derek and Braeden and Chris. They have to start being an official Pack at some point, and have to learn what that means. But most of all they just miss being Pack. And one night they all gather for dinner at the McCall house and Derek takes a single look at Scott and Stiles and gets all annoyed/concerned/offended like he does and goes, “You didn’t tell me you were Mated.”

“WHAT?”

“WHAT.”

And everyone is confused and a little bit horrified. Because WHOOPS werewolf married is a thing and apparently one of the bonding rituals includes tracing your Pack symbol with your Intended and because they were already so in love with each other compatible it actually stuck. Derek is very unimpressed with them. Lydia calls them idiots. Liam is a little shit and asks who he has to call Dad. The Sheriff and Melissa are hiding their faces in their hands but they’re so thoroughly UNSURPRISED by this turn of events.

They all expect there to be angst. Scott and Stiles expect there to be angst, because HEY I’m sorry for accidentally ensnaring you in a supernatural marriage bond. But instead Stiles comes at it with genuine humor. “So does that make me Stiles McCall or you Scott Stilinski?”

And Scott ducks his head with that bashful smile that immediately has Stiles perking up. Because that’s Scott’s “adorable and in love and please kiss me” smile. And Scott says: “How about McCall-Stilinski?”

They’re surprisingly okay with that. And so is the rest of the Pack.

scott is not a “true alpha” because it’s his destiny— scott is a true alpha because he refused to accept the inevitability of violence and manipulation that becoming a werewolf promised him.

which, incidentally, does not make him perfect and boring. unless you think being caring and hardworking and humanly flawed is.. a.. bad thing. which is your problem, at the end of the day, not teen wolf’s.

a “true alpha” is not a fulfillment of prophecy– it’s simply a differentiation from all the other NORMAL, ASSHOLE alphas.

it’s been a century since the last “true alpha" because apparently the werewolf world is inhabited by violent powermongers like deucalion, peter and derek— people who will kill and abuse their own in order to ascend in rank. it’s been a century because sometimes you have to wait a century for someone who’s willing to screw over an abusive system, even at great cost to themselves, and pave an alternative path. (if there were more kind, selfless people in werewolf land, there would be more alphas like scott.)

scott is not The Chosen One; scott chose this for himself. he’s struggled to get to the point he’s at, and it’s only going to get more difficult from here.
