How much does it really matter if this extraordinary movie and this extraordinary performance didn’t make its way to the Oscars nominations? A beautiful mind is what Russel Crow would be remembered for not the gladiator. And at any point in time, the aviator, inception and the shutter island would be much greater movies than the revenant, regardless of which one of them grandted DiCaprio the golden statue.
The academy can decide whatever it wants to decide but this does not decide how the movie would be remembered and appreciated later on!
