All of the [white] people situating Alex Pretti or Renee Good as individual victims or think that ICE is some sort of unique threat are paradoxically contributing to the continuation of state sanctioned violence.
Pretti and Good are connected to the deaths of Mike Brown, Sandra Bland, and Sonya Massey. ICE operates just as your local police and the beloved US military.

"Vessels of the Alchemical Sun" by artist Marie Alexander
Why are we arguing over genitals while ignoring literally everything else that keeps women down, ignoring the literally base of what feminism is. dismantling structures of oppression for ALL women—social, political, economic. excluding transwomen reinforces patriarchy: it tells everyone that your gender is only valid if you meet someone else’s checklist. That’s exactly the kind of authoritarian thinking feminism is supposed to fight. TERFs are literally building the same walls yall claim feminism exists to tear down. You aren't feminist, gtfo, what🤨Why are we bullying such a small statistic? Why are bullying people whose suicide percentages are higher than the general? What is wrong with people? I don't understand
TERF's are so committed to policing the binary that yall literally repeat patriarchal misogyny in the name of “feminism.” You're just using a feminist title to justify oppression; you're not dismantling shit. You're not fighting for women, you're hurting them, you are hurting us
And also, quantifying "woman" is quite difficult. If we don't go down the bio essentialist route (woman = pregnancy) then what are we left with? The same forces that drive trans women to surgically construct a vagina are the same forces that push cis women to get a "mommy makeover". There is no universal woman but the throughline seems to be a manipulation, objectification, and mutilation of the body, which exists regardless of genitals. And again, defining womanhood is difficult because what is the social purpose of the identity? The social construction makes for ambiguous borders.
The response from both individual police officers and the collective precincts to ICE in Minnesota get to the root issue of policing. If all cops aren't bad, why are we not seeing more interference? Why aren't individual officers pulling over unmarked vehicles or arresting ICE agents who are illegally trespassing on private property?
If the answer to those questions revolves around ‘because they were told to stay out of it' then that highlights how policing is actually a systemic issue and not just a few “rotten apples”. Because why would an entire body, who is sworn to “protect and serve”, be told to ignore the illegality of behaviors, if the law is their governing body? We are continually sold the idea of safety being sown into every law and subsequent police interaction. So where are they at lol?
Individual officers misinterpret the law all day. Whether intentionally or because the only education requirement to become an officer is a high school diploma. So the imaginary good officer could throw a wrench and have substantive denial, right? I mean they kill people unlawfully and continue to have jobs, so this seems like less of a conflict… so why aren't we seeing more resistance?
The lack of interference could be interpreted as full acknowledgement of their jobs and the identity they assume because of the job. What if police offers are actually cognizant of the line? Meaning, there's an understanding of how the law is to be used and who violence is for. Criminology is primarily centered around the individual civilian, very few scholars dive into the criminality of the state, and this is reflected in police training and behaviors. So it's actually much easier for officers to navigate the killing of random Black people as opposed to playing interference with another state entity.
So the latest death in Minnesota highlights the logic of the capitalist, White supremacist, colonial system that we are all living under.
We are conditioned to be fearful of each other. We are brought up on Hobbsian notions of human nature. You need the Ring camera because you never know what your neighbor is up to. You should be scared to get on public transportation because homeless people have access to it. You should own a gun because people are “crazy”.
Be more scared of the everyday people living parallel to you than those with authority. Most of the 2nd Amendment lovers don't own weapons because they're fearful of their government, despite that being the purpose of the amendment. They own guns because there's a fantasy surrounding violence towards the socially constructed enemy, as evidenced by all of the “protected by the 2nd Amendment” bumper stickers plastered throughout the south.
But to be clear, the 2nd amendment is speaking about civilians v. the government with the language of “regulated Militia”. And yet, the common narrative is you should carry because you never know who you'll run into at Lowes.
So where the fuck are y'all at?
A White man was executed by state agents today… and you're still afraid to ride the light rail and talk to your neighbor? But you own a gun?
It is really disturbing how people can lose their humanity and threaten you just because you *checks notes* sentenced their child to death :'(

Prosecutors are cops that went to law school...
we really can’t overstate how damaging it has been to indoctrinate the public with the idea that if they let themselves eat as much as they want, they’ll eat too much. human bodies, when permitted over the long term to eat as much as they want, actually get really, really good at calibrating their hunger and satiety, and will over time eat exactly the right amount for themselves. the common conception of a balanced eater as a minimal or restrained eater is absolutely wrong. balanced eaters eat quite a lot (compared to diet cultural ideas about right intake amounts), and they do so consistently and permanently. healthy, balanced eating isn’t some tightrope walk, it’s a gigantic net of total permission to eat.
