there’s so many stories about ‘wife guys’ cheating on their wives and like… im not surprised. men can’t handle having their personality revolve around their wife, women are basically trained their whole lives to accept that their personality is one day going to revolve around their husband and children. when a guy is stuck with the wife guy persona it puts him into that (definitely uncomfortable) position, and he has to rely on his wife’s approval for his public image in the same way that women often have to rely on their husbands approval for theirs. people always seem so shocked when there’s another john mulaney or a ned fulmer but it completely makes sense to me, men are raised individualistic while women are raised more reliant, so when a man with a large following has the trait of loving his wife to a very public extent put on him it forces him to confront the scary feeling of having his personality attached to someone in that way and they can’t handle it. can you tell i was watching a video essay about ned fulmer.

hey y’all, vulnerability time. does anyone have tips on cleaning a depression/hoarder room? im actually not depressed anymore but ive been dealing with some chronic illness and recently found a couple bugs in my room, which was my wake-up call. ive already thrown out ~3 or 4 trash bags of stuff, but it just feels like a never-ending pile, like every time i clean one spot another gets worse. anyone who’s dealt with a depression room how did you get through it all and actually fix it?
