Some random obvious thoughts i was thinking on the train today but i really don't understand all the morality competitions and debates i see that people have re the b****es btw. particularly when fans are talking about their fave and are trying to (for some reason) best each other with these guys' wrongdoings as ammunition in their arguments...Like it would be, and is, superficial reductive and futile anyway (as a way of discussing any public figures constructed / created characters in media or just people as a whole) but to me it feels especially crazy with the fab four when if you do beyond like any level of casual research you'll find that despite commonly known stories and popular consensus' - they were all equally as evilllllll. yay. like pretty genuinely... if you do want to dictate some kind of measurement and result. there is no Good one that is fake news and propaganda. yes!!! even ****...i mean there is a lottt of recorded info out there, on all of them. and also that no you cannot remove them from the social contexts they came from (just as you cannot remove yourself and your perspective from yours) and the hierarchies they were part of pls just accept they were white men of the 60s and that that comes up a lot. And that they all kind of deserved to be shot im sorry ← girl who has cried over john btw. oh yes he's my fave and yes thank you beatle fan, you can stop telling me about that i actually do know he said/did/ thought that and also additionally pls stop telling me that the abusive evil he enacted was entirely singular and specific, as if he was particularly distinctive or unique in any way on that front. in regards to men, to the 60s generally and the beatles specifically... bc ok yes he was crazyyy and arguably some of that can be tied to his abusive behaviour in both clear and complex ways..... but in general, on the whole, trust me in that respect he was mr normal guy of the norm, from the norm! A lot of it maybe the most normal things about him. and that goes for all of them and their retrospectively rendered problematic behaviour bc that's how these things work and you just have to accept that if you want to be fans stilllll. and maybe choose to find that and all the topics these things raise like historiography, moral relativism, revisionism, presentism etc. interesting in terms of discourses around the group the guys themselves and all their known and recounted history. And to not absolve them of their sins whilst simultaneously learning and thinking of the larger frameworks and systems they were a part of and how they massively shaped these people and the types of things they did bc yes they were evillll you are all right !!!! But also ofc they were, like almost.. well how could they not be

yayy i finished 2007 debbiedale!!!! ive a few more things from that year and loads of 2006 drafts still to post and then ill be onto 2008... im really excited to see how debbie intersects with the jo and andy stuff and for more of the sarah sl in general (it's all so evilllll) particularly how she becomes involved with sarah again. and more jasmine ofc, always and forever.... debbiedale truly the best show ever :))))
