To be a great champion you must believe you are the best. If you’re not, pretend you are.

I’m not tragic these days, I don’t weep, but I feel alone, bewildered, far from you, far from everything — nothing has any meaning.

Well, let it pass; April is over, April is over. There are all kinds of love in the world, but never the same love twice.

Every good writer or filmmaker has something eating at them, right? That they can’t quite get off their back. And so your job is to make your audience care about your obsessions.

And I think of all I have not said, / About the words ’to suffer’ and ’sufferance’ and how one can bear a lot / By training anger until it gets tired and gives up. / And for me, now as then, it is too much. / There is too much world.

But also I say this: that light is an invitation to happiness, and that happiness, when it’s done right, is a kind of holiness,

“If something burns your soul with purpose and desire, it’s your duty to be reduced to ashes by it. Any other form of existence will be yet another dull book in the library of life.”

My mission, should I choose to accept it, is to find peace with exactly who and what I am. To take pride in my thoughts, my appearance, my talents, my flaws and to stop this incessant worrying that I can’t be loved as I am.

Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world’s grief. Do justly, now. Love mercy, now. Walk humbly, now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.
