I was a little confused at the assignment details at first, but the weekly overview video helped clarify significantly what examples we’re supposed to use to validate our answers. To adjust my essay further, I will focus on the context provided of this being an interview-like situation. I will write professionally and concisely, but I will also experiment with a conversational style to match the provided context.

I am personally most proud of my success combining my graphic design skills with the web writing process. The emphasis in user experience and using design as a tool to communicate was most intriguing for me, and I am proud of myself for getting the hang of combining the two skills. Visuals command even more attention from the reader initially than text does, this accomplishing the combination of both effectively is a very important goal to achieve.

For me, I like seeing the progress I’ve made in understanding assignment specifications throughout the course. Because there is so much detail and information to digest in the project guidelines, I had trouble navigating it at first. But as the semester went along, I learned how ti manage that aspect better.

My one question about web writing about after this course involves the length of time it takes to see improvement in skills. Web writing skills isn’t something you can master over one semester, so I’m curious where in your career did you feel you had web writing mastered enough to feel comfortable teaching others?

This architecture design stood out to me recently. Taking a treehouse to the next level, this design makes the imagination practical.

Here’s my one post I have written up as well as an angry fan response. I’m now plugging these written posts into an in-context to make them look like real tweets, but is there a specific app or website that you all have found that works specifically well? I’m intending these to look like they’re a tweet on X/Twitter.

My current favorite show is Revenge, an older ABC show airing for 4 seasons. Although I’m not quite through all the seasons yet, fans commonly get angry over the bad luck that seems to always come the way for the one character, Jack. He’s made to be a very likeable character, yet the producers keep making unfortunate life events happen to him. There are so many deaths in this show, and many seem to be for no reason which also is infuriating to fans. One specific death of the main character’s on-and-off again love interest dies suddenly without barely any leadup that made sense, which threw fans for a loop. This example has helped me work through understanding angry fandom as I can put myself in their shoes, and understand their feelings.

This is the CW show the 100, which I experienced being cancelled after 7 seasons. This happened awhile ago, but I remember feeling sad but also nostalgic at the same time. The show had a good run but as fans we could collectively agree it was time to lay it to rest and the storyline needed an ending. The last episode was extremely nostalgic, which helped fans bear the brunt of it being the last they’d see of the show.

Question for transferring skills in this class to the real world: What aspects of web writing that we learned in this class extend beyond the screen and impact our interactions with clients, coworkers, etc. in person versus online?

This is a cover for a publication design I was working on this week. This is an example of good design because it communicates to the reader the purpose of the publication and previews what the content inside will be without going into much detail. No cover for any publication should overwhelm the viewer and discourage them from reading; thus, design choices were made embracing simplicity to effectively draw in the reader’s attention.
