Learning
I am proud of how my learning has grown in adapting to a new writing space. I am proud of being able to look at a space and better analyze how to write in it based on who the audience is and how they interact with the space as well as the overall experience and expectations of the space.
What I like about my essay
So far, I like that the essay is split up into specific questions and it has been a pretty smooth write so far. I also like that it helps me reflect on the class!

This is how I am laying out my pivot guide. I wanted it to be short and sweet and to the point. I will have a second page that has the posts to show the "intern" examples.
I LOVE how this is laid out!! I love the memorable acronym as well!! Great job!

share an example of your experience as a fan of a show that was cancelled. help us feel the feels
One Day At A time was show that got cancelled on Netflix after 3 seasons because not enough people were watching it, got picked up by POP! for one more season before it getting cancelled again by Covid. It followed a Cuban family and touched on many social problems while also having many moments of humor. The characters felt very relatable and human which made the show one of my favorites.
This sounds interesting!! I'll have to check it out!! A show being canceled sucks! What was your reaction to Netflix canceling the show (they seem to be really good at doing that)? Was the show able to come to a good end? Or did it just come to a halt? Were there any loose plot points you wished they tied up?
Addition to the fan reactions
Shows That Have Been Canceled!
Buckle up because this is a long one but it's worth it. This brought two shows to mind. One show was The Owl House on Disney Plus and the second was Julie and The Phantoms on Netflix.
If you are familiar with shows such as Gravity Falls then you are already familiar with some of the people on The Owl House. I will try to keep the description of the show short as I could go on FOREVER about this show and it is one of my current top favorites (possibly favorite). In brief, it is about a girl Luz Noceda who doesn't quite fit in. One day she accidentally stumbles across a demon realm where she meets Eda The Owl Lady and decides to live out her dream of becoming a witch just like Azura in her favorite books "The Good Witch Azura". However, being a human this proves to be a lot harder than she thought. The show follows her adventures through the Demon Realm unfolding a much darker story as the show continues. If you haven't watched it, I 10000% recommend it. Sadly, as this show was about to reach it's third season Disney decided it was not going to continue it... but was generous enough to give it a final three episodes. FANS WERE OUTRAGED! There were so many theories as to why it was canceled and I am not even completely sure which are true. Some of these theories included having a queer relationship and LGBTQ+ representation, others theorized that because the show came out around the time of COVID it was a budget thing (which doesn't make complete sense because Disney is HUGE). The main thing people had to go on was Disney's claims that the show no longer "fit their brand". I will admit as disappointing as this was the ending was beautiful. The writers did a beautiful job of making us cry and laugh as they tied up the story while integrating plot points in small ways that were supposed to be full episodes. One thing I will forever be upset that the story was robbed of however, is a Hooty back story. Hooty was this owl...? Demon? Thing? Yes? that was the owl house itself and lived in the door. He was a disturbing but also really funny character and just looking at him raises so many questions.
Another show that came to mind was Julie and The Phantoms. This show was on Netflix and was directed by Kenny Ortega (director of High School Musical, Descendants, and a lot more). This show is a very different concept and hard to explain without watching the show. It followed a girl Julie who recently lost her mom. She loved music but it hurt too much to play as her mom also had loved music. Until one day she finally decides to go into the garage space her mom used to play in and plays for the first time since she passed away. Little did she know she was not alone. She discovers a band of three boys living in her garage? Except they're not exactly alive. They had passed away young due to a street hot dog incident. The show follows Julie and the band as they discover that only Julie can always see them but for some unknown reason when they perform together they are visible to everyone. The show ends on a massive cliffhanger with some trouble from a ghost antagonist who wants the band to perform for him forever. Although there is hope!! There is rumors and hints from the cast that the show may continue and be picked up by another company! The reasons for canceling this show are even more unknown than The Owl House. The show continues to be fairly popular, was directed by one of the most beloved directors of my generation, and has a sound track that will get stuck in your head for days! But, it may also just be Netflix living up to it's reputation of nixing shows before they really even have a chance to become something but who knows.
I'm curious what your personal thoughts were on the cancellation of these shows. Did you reflect the feelings of other fans in the community, such as outrage for The Owl House? I'm sure you were disappointed because it is one of your favorites, but did you feel pacified by the final three episodes or were just left feeling abandoned by the producers? (Also The Owl House sounds so cute. I am getting so many show recommendations from everyone's posts!)
Hi! This is a great question!! I follow the creator, Dana Terrace on Instagram and just hearing the creator's side of the story was really moving, it was more of a feeling of like wow not only do I feel robbed of a good story but they also screwed over the writer. From my knowledge, Disney never really gave a full reason other than it "no longer fit their brand" which is SUPER vague and also frustrating… It was definitely disappointing we could have learned more of the strange world that was created. For instance, a Hooty (The Owl House itself and a character you will either love or absolutely hate) backstory and how did he meet Eda? There is also a character that is later introduced that it gives some of the details to fill in main plot holes but I would love if it could dive deeper into that. Honestly, I feel like they could do a whole spin-off series of just lore build and background stories! However, The ending they did give to the show was a really good one. They were given an additional three episodes incorporating easter eggs of episodes that could have been while still beautifully wrapping up the story and still managing to make me cry lol. I hope that answered it?! I would highly recommend watching it though and would LOVE to hear your thoughts!!

Hi!
I'm a big Owl House fan too! Watched the whole series from start to finish, and I found it to be amazing! I thought I was going to be the only person in the class/group to bring up this cartoon when talking about favorite shows, but low and behold, I'm not alone in liking this show! Also, your synopsis is perfect, definitely better than mine! But yes, this show was a good example of cancelling a popular show and seeing angry fans in action. That I very much remember seeing a bit when it was announced. Thankfully, the show wrapped things up in the best way it could, and now it's a show we're still talking about! If that's not a sign of success, I don't know what is!
Hi!! I wasn't sure if anyone else had watched it either!! It was like the first example that came to my head when seeing that prompt! I agree, it is definitely a great example of seeing angry fans in action! And thank you! It is a definite hyper fixation so I didn't want to ramble too much but still do the show justice in the synopsis so that means a lot!! I will have to look at yours I am sure it is great!! Also, yes! I am so thankful they got the last three episodes because they did an amazing job with the short amount of time they had. I don't think I could have ever forgiven Disney if they left it the way they did at the end of season 2... I still cried at the end though lol
This is an example of my original post creation announcing the end of the show and this is showing the comment section!

Favorite Movies and Tv Shows
I have a current wide range of favorite shows and movies such as The Owl House, Hazbin Hotel, Amphibia, BBC Sherlock, Demon Slayer and more. In some of these shows I have experienced the end of whether it was cut short or it just was time for it to come to an end and others are still going. These shows help me work through the feelings of an angry fan because I've felt that anger and frustration. In my previous post I mentioned The Owl House. I loved the way that the writers wrapped it up. For instance they got creative with the last three titles THANKS to Them, FOR The Future, and WATCHING and Waiting, Spelling out Thanks For Watching". However, I and many others felt robbed of some episodes and getting to know the stories of beloved characters. So, when I saw this project, I immediately could relate to the fan base.

Instagram Reels
Instagram reels are super short and but can have a lot in them. You only have a short window to catch the attention of the audience and keep them interested. I have found myself going down a rabbit hole on someones page because theyre telling an intriguing story but I have to go find part 2 in order to hear the rest.
Original Content #2 Instagram Reel Style
A rule for Instagram would to be adding hashtags to your post. This is very important because hashtags can allow your post to be discovered in searches users use. Users can search up hashtags and your post can appear no matter how many likes or comments you have on it. That's the important key to followers on Instagram. Also, your post will appear on the explore page of users on the application. The explore page features varieties of posts scaling from celebrities to even your post. It can very much help your post be discovered and displayed among the application.
Yes!! Hashtags are huge with Instagram!! Ive gone down rabbit holes by clicking on them and have even followed people because of them so I can have more of that conent on my feed!

Explain the appeal of long YouTube videos (10+ minutes), why do viewers watch? How do the creators make choices to engage the audience?
I think the appeal of longer YouTube videos is that you can put them on while doing other tasks. There's a joke on the internet that people can't start eating until they find a YouTube video to watch.
I love this!! The amount of YouTube videos I have had in the background or watched while eating a snack is insane. Actually, theres a YouTube video playing as I'm writing this 😂😂
Explain the appeal of long podcasts (20+ minutes), why do audiences listen? How do the creators make choices to engage the audience?
I think much like YouTube videos, podcasts can provide background noise for your life. I think the appeal of podcasts is that you can do other things while listening to them, like driving or cleaning. It's a great way to learn because you can devote time to it while also devoting time to other things.
First off, love the pic for this!! You make such great points as well!! Podcasts are great for multitasking!! It it sort of like the appeal of Audio books. If you dont have time to sit down and read a book you can listen to it and accomplish whatever you need to accomplish! Podcasts are like that for maybe like YouTube videos. You dont have to sit down and watch anything you can just listen!
