**Six years ago**

“Lily, what are you doing?” Mrs Howell shrieked as she saw her daughter playing in her brother’s room. The little girl was sat on the floor with one of her brother’s hoodies on and playing with an action figure.

“Playing with Mark’s toys.” The girl said innocently, looking up at her mother with wide eyes.

Mrs Howell approached the young girl and dragged her to her feet. She knocked the toy out of her hands and yanked the hoody off of her far too violently. She took the small girl’s hand and led her out and into her own room. “Lily, you do not play with Mark’s things, do you hear me?” She hissed at the young girl.

“But mummy, I don’t like my toys, I like Mark’s toys.” She whined softly, not seeing why her mother was so angry with her. “And I like Mark’s clothes as well, not these stuffy dresses.”
