Hongjoong rubbed his tired eyes as he entered the dorm in the wee hours of the morning, weary sigh escaping his lips. He headed straight to his shared room, stepping quietly across the floorboards. The dorm was silent and he held his breath as he twisted the doorknob to his shared room with Seonghwa. He entered the dark room and slowly closed the door, losing his sight for a moment as he felt for the string on the lamp. He pulled it once it brushed his fingers and the room partially illuminated in a warm glow. He set his stuff down and grabbed some clothes to head for the shower. He turned and nearly jumped out of his skin, squeaking in fright, as he saw Seonghwa standing motionlessly by the door, barefaced, and holding a container of food.

Hongjoong placed a hand over his racing heart and leaned against his desk. "Don't do that!"

Seonghwa didn't flinch. He was dressed down for the night in a t-shirt and shorts. "You're late again. I saved you dinner."

Hongjoong nodded tiredly, running a hand through his hair. "Thank you but I'm not hungry."

Seonghwa's fingers twitched around the container and the silence lasted for a beat too long, verging on uncomfortable before he lowered the food slightly. "Make sure you eat it tomorrow, okay?"

Hongjoong slowly nodded, sweating a bit and not quite being able to look away from Seonghwa's eyes that seemed endlessly dark in the room. "I didn't wake you, did I?"

Seonghwa shook his head gently. "Just couldn't sleep."

Softening, Hongjoong grabbed his clothes again. "Go to bed. I'm going to shower."

"Right."

Seonghwa didn't move and Hongjoong awkwardly shifted before approaching the door. Seonghwa moved out of the way at the last moment, almost brushing together, and Hongjoong opened the door, stepping out.

"Goodnight." Seonghwa said quietly. Hongjoong paused as he was shutting the door.
