I'm going to put my interests here (+ one hobby. Just one)!! At the very least, my more common/reoccurring ones. Some are more frequent than others, since I tend to get super focused on one thing and then on another, but others are consistent. Okay here we go:

You'll be seeing art, rambles, random thoughts at different points in time, images, screenshots, and whatever else I end up posting!! Which. Could be a lot of things.

I don't know how much of this has been acknowledged but a friend and I watched Project Hail Mary yesterday (me for the first time) and I NEED to put down some stuff we noticed/some thoughts I had.

When the explosion happens, Grace is wearing a yellow jacket. In all memory scenes afterwards, Grace is wearing the same jacket. From what I remember, the only other people in the past wearing yellow were the astronauts who were going to be on Project Hail Mary. This could be "foreshadowing" (foreshadowing is in quotes because we all know that Grace ended up on the ship) that he was going to end up becoming the scientist due to the deaths of Martin Dubois and Annie Shapiro.

During the explosion seen as well, everyone minus Grace was wearing black/dark colors.

My friend pointed out that when Grace was first shown teaching his students on Earth, he was teaching them about soundwaves, which humans can't see. When he was teaching on Erid, however, he was teaching about lightwaves, which the Eridians can't see (at the very least, not at the spectrum that humans can, as seen through Rocky's vision). Both times he's teaching his students about what they can't see.

I feel like this is super self-explanatory and noticeable, but I found it super neat that when Stratt received Grace's videos, it was noticeably colder outside. The ship was moving through ice, and she was dressed in clothes that would provide warmth. It's such a contrast to all the memories we've seen. It also helps show how much time has actually passed and gives an idea for the effects that Earth has been experiencing.

Speaking of. Stratt definitely isn't wrong in her considerations that the world might not cooperate and ration food in order to allow humanity to survive long enough for something to get back to Earth from space.

When watching Project Hail Mary, I feel like we were meant to feel just as confused as Grace when it first began. He wakes up with no recollection of where he is, and as the audience, we only know so much (assuming we go in spoiler-free and without having read the book). Within minutes he finds the corpses of the rest of the crew, which is pretty unsettling. Imagine waking up from a coma and the only other people aboard are dead. And likely have been dead. There's no explanation for how they died that is provided to him at that point in time, and as a result, it's not provided to us. I think that was cool.

The Taumoeba mutating to be resistant to the xenonite because they were raised in it was. So interesting to me. I just took AP biology so I got to learn about evolution and mutations and whatnot and it made so much sense. Especially when you think about the amount of generations that were bred so that both Grace and Rocky would have enough. It's a reason why it's not recommended to take antibiotics and whatnot if you don't need them. It can impact the mutations of bacteria, which means that they become resistant (and even though it might not directly mess with the DNA of bacteria, it can increase cell division which raises the rate for bacteria, and can even kill off bacteria that can be killed, increasing the chances of more bacteria resistant to the antibiotic reproducing). I will stop myself from talking about this for now but yeah. Super interesting.

THE SOUNDTRACK WAS SO GOOD. IT WAS SO GOOD AND IT DID ITS JOB SO WELL. I have no complaints about the soundtrack it was awesome.

Overall. Great movie. I'm shocked I didn't think of it the whole time I was taking my AP World History exam today. I need to rewatch it soon. Also this has been one of the only times that the theatre has been pretty much silent minus people (quietly, but still audibly) crying or going "Ohhhh no. Ohhh no." I think since I went on a random afternoon on a Wednesday there weren't many people, BUT STILL. The talking that happened was because people came a little bit after it started and they went silent pretty quickly after settling down. Within 15 minutes, I think.

Okay that's it. Congratulations to Project Hail Mary for being one of the only movies to make me cry.
