When Kagami said this she was basically telling Marinette that she can't get Adrien to notice her because she hesitates to take any chance with him. (Which is true)

But was this a really hurtful thing to say just to get her point across that Kagami will not hesitate with Adrien? Hell yes it was. Which was why Marinette became so sad afterward and left. This is nothing new when it comes to romantic rivals, and that's what Kagami is. That doesn't mean I don't like her, I just understand the role she plays in the plot.

For this to be the first time out of all the times Marinette has been angry, upset, scared, or felt any sort of negativity, to almost get akumatized - because something she put her heart and soul into making for someone else was ruined out of a petty tantrum - is really the best thing for her to get upset over.

Boyfriend : So Marinette just starts to like someone new pretty easily?

Remember how Marinette didn’t like Adrien at first, but when he apologized about the gum misunderstanding and was kind to Marinette, he gave her his umbrella as a move towards friendship so she caught feelings? Then Luka was playfully picking on Marinette but when he noticed how uncomfortable she was, he apologized and played his guitar in a move towards friendship and gave her a guitar pick of her favorite singer.

Boyfriend: I guess that makes sense...
