about to solve a murder at school (but one of them is the murderer)

Both of these are "creative kokeshi" that don't follow any regional style. The girl on the left was my favorite of my mother's vast collection, due to her lovely hair. Mom and Dad bought a kokeshi every time they went to Japan Center, which they did a lot in the 1980s. Girl to the right was a $3 find in an antique shop in Verment, back when I lived in Connecticut; I bought her because she's cute.
