Summary : Dean is taking care of his little one while they’re regressed. They both take a ride in the Impala, then have some lunch and get ready for an afternoon nap.
Dean Winchester and his little one were on the road once again. Dean strapped his baby into their car seat, making sure it was secure before popping into the front seat. Dean’s kid babbled as they looked through the window at the trees. The trees swayed left to right so peacefully, making them feel very sleepy. They were taken out of their trance when they heard their caregiver talking.
“Ready to roll, kiddo?” Dean called out with that familiar nickname, causing his little to giggle. They continued to babble while chewing on their hand. Dean smiled, he had always felt as if he had been the one to take care of others but this was different, this was special. His baby meant the world to him and he would do anything to make them happy.
Dean starts the car and begins to pull onto the open road. He began to hum a tune and it didn’t take long before his little one recognized it and started to sing along. His little clapped their hands and they both sang the lyrics. Dean saw his kid smiling through the rear view mirror. Soon they pulled into a gas station. Dean unbuckled his little one and they both headed inside.
“Now I don’t want you fussing about getting candy today, little rascal.” Dean jokingly said. His little stomped their foot, still smiling. They tried to wander off but were stopped by Dean pulling their hand. He picked out a soda for himself and some water for his kiddo. Dean talked with the cashier while he rung up their items and his little stayed behind him, shyly waiting. When they had finished the interaction, Dean went out the door and got his little one buckled again. Dean started back to their apartment, talking the entire way about what they both could see outside. When they got to home, Dean sat his little in their high chair and began to get lunch ready. His kid was beginning to get bored and tired, as they yawned and pushed their hands against the table’s tray.
“One second, little one. Papa’s almost done.” He assured them, before turning the oven off. He had made their favorite food, decorated to look like a funny face. Dean placed the plate in front of them.
“Are you old enough to feed yourself or does papa need to help you?” Dean smiled, sitting in his chair in front of the high chair. His kid blushed, turning their head away. Dean knew what that meant. He picked up the spoon, putting a bit of food on to it. His little immediately bit down onto the spoon when it was put up to their mouth. They sat enjoying each other’s company while Dean would encourage them to keep eating and made a cheer when the plate was empty. His kid smiled and yawned once again.
“Sleepy, huh? It’s been a long day of adventuring. We should get your nap in soon.” Dean talked as he cleaned his baby’s face. He picked them up and brought them into the nursery. He picked out two sets of pajamas and held them out.
“Which one would you like, sweetheart?” He asked. They held out a hand to the left outfit and Dean made quick work of getting them changed. They leaned against Dean and put a thumb into their mouth.
“Nuh-Uh. Here’s your paci.” He took their thumb out of their mouth and replaced it with a black pacifier. His kid happily sucked on it while Dean rocked them forwards and backwards, humming them a lullaby. His baby closed their eyes, feeling safe in his arms.
