Commission of my OCs, Fenrir and Hela Lavellan, by @angelfolks! Look how cute they are as kids!!!Â
After seeing this, I was inspired to write a little scene between these two, Pre-Inquisition!Â
Fenrir ducked under the fence to the halla pen, his violet eyes searching, seeking. Behind the water trough, he saw the bit of black hair and pointed ears.
Stepping silently, heart pounding, he slipped through the paddock, the halla nestling him as he went. He gently pushed them away, their fur soft in his hands, but he was focusing on his target. Edging around the side, he took a deep breath and leaped around, startled blue-gold eyes flashing up towards him.
âA-ha! I found you!â Fenrir declared triumphantly, his white braid flipping across his shoulder. Â
Hela squealed in surprise, her ears twitching. She soon recovered, though, and stuck her tongue out at him. âI let you win! Next time, you will never find me! I will use my magic!â She stood up, confidence in her posture, shoulders back, chin up.
It had been two months since her magic manifested, two months since her family aravel had been scorched, the side still singed. It might have burned entirely if not for her grandmotherâs quick action, using her own magic to quench the flames.
âNo magic or it isnât fair!â Fenrir pouted, crossing his arms. He didnât want to say he was jealous, but he was. Hela had magic, like grandmotherâs magic. And he didnât. Hela and he did everything together, but nowâŚ
One of the halla wandered over and sniffed at his head, tickling so that he couldnât keep from giggling. He reached up his small hand to scratch at its cheek. Â
Hela gave him a look, rolling her eyes, but a look of understanding crossing her youthful face. âFine. But you still wonât be able to find me! Even without magic!â She punched his arm, her eyes sparkling. âYou just got lucky this time!â
He gave her a lopsided grin, negative thoughts slipping away, his cousinâs familiar teasing reminding him that no matter what, they were still friends. Nothing would change that, not even magic. âYou have to find me first! You have to count to 50 this time and no cheating!â
She threw her hands over her eyes and started counting loudly. âOne! Two! Three!â
Fenrir started to protest, but seeing the huge grin on her face, he just shook his head and bounded off through the pen, towards his hiding place.
Hela was going to have a hard time finding him!
Joy thrumming through him, Fenrir slipped back out of the pen and into the camp, his cousinâs voice fading in the background as he ran.
