YouTube, we have a serious problem.

Jesus fucking christ. This site. we need to bring some light to this issue--

Channels are being randomly taken down with no warning, reason, or explanation. Monetization is being disabled with no warning, custom thumbnails, and random videos are being hit with unfair copyright strikes. This means YouTubers who rely on their channel as their ONLY source of income-- such as I Hate Everything, Chibi Reviews, and even huge names like the Nostalgia Critic are being affected by this. Granted, a couple of these cases have been at least partially fixed, but they were only fixed when they went public and made a big deal out of it, to get YouTube’s attention. It shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

YouTube is an impossible site to contact. Everything is automated-- emails, copyright strikes, everything. No human looks over anything, which is a huge fucking issue. This essentially means channels that do little to nothing wrong are taken down, while channels with ACTUAL problematic content like prank channels or channels directly attacking another group of people are allowed to stay.

Again, THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE. We NEED to make a big deal out of this. We NEED to bring this to light. So, I ask of you guys, please reblog this and add any other channels that are being hit with this. That were unfairly struck. Any channels taken down for reasons unknown, even if they were brought back up. Please add any information I might have missed or overlooked. This needs to be fixed. YouTube is so many people’s career and livelihood that this CANNOT keep happening.
