PRIDE FLAG TEMPLATES!

to follow up my pride icon template, now i’d like to present two canva templates for making flags!

if you don’t have a reliable computer, making flags that are quality can be hard. that’s why i’ve personally had to use canva, i’ve been without a proper computer for a long time now, but canva’s powerful editor actually isn’t bad for making flags in my opinion. it can be used in browser or in an app, lets you export images in various qualities, and unlike other apps that might get used for making flags it has a built in HUGE database of stock images and shapes. since images of IRL things aren’t really great for flags (it usually makes them impossible to reproduce), i think making use of these assets is a really good idea for making creative flags! more talk from me about how to use canva is under the cut

     hello  !  i  recently  made  a  template  for  a  friend  to  use  for  a  self  para  ,  and  because  i  really  liked  how  it  turned  out  ,  i  reworked  it  a  little  and  created  this  .  it  is  intended  to  be  a  page  to  host  all  your  information  for  a  single  muse  ───  featuring  a  cover  with  a  500px  by  500  px  image  (  the  only  image  ,  since  this  is  meant  to  be  quite  writing  -  focused  )  &  some  quick  stats  ,  a  biography  section  that  can  be  lengthened  or  shortened  and  a  connections  section  .  if  you’d  like  to  use  this  for  a  self  para  ,  i  recommend  deleting  all  sections  but  the  biography  one  and  using  that  !

• Again, I don’t mind Colin and Marina for now, but was it necessary though? And would Colin do that without talking to literally anyone from his family? Colin I SHOULD GO ASK DAPHNE ABOUT LOVE Bridgerton. I don’t mind Colin being interested in other women but I honestly don’t get where they are going with this plot

• No, really Colin wanted to make sure he was in love c’mon! And took it a bit more seriously (yeah he was older). I don’t know, I’m with Anthony on this one.

• The reason I’m so pissed is that I liked Colin, not only as a dreamy man but also as someone I could relate to. His struggles with his identity and writing always spoke to me, this is one of the reasons his book is my favorite. I just think there could be more to develop him as character than a weird engagement plot

• okay you know I get it when sometimes people are very passionate about their ship and it can be wild but I saw something like “oh you don’t like Marina just because she’s in the way” WHAT ABOUT THE FACT SHE’S MANIPULATING HIM HMMM? I truly wish that would have done something more interesting with Colin

• OH FUCK YOU COLIN GO TO SCOTLAND I DON’T LOVE YOU ANYMORE (it’s a lie obviously)

• I am sad but you already know that

• I know Daphne is still quite young but shouldn’t she dress a bit differently as a married woman? Genuine question for someone who knows

• I get Daphne struggles but does it mean Simon allowed his wife to humiliate herself for a laugh or he didn’t know about the pigs either ??(which seems strange)

• I don’t like Marina and I will stand by it. My question is why there was a need to make her inlikable? Why her plot must’ve been explored in such a way? Just for the drama? I thought she could be an interesting addition but I don’t see much point in her whole plot. It is not even about maternity or pregnancy in this period.

ALSO IT IS NOT YOUR PLACE TO TELL HOW COLIN FEELS OKAY. Penelope is perfectly aware her love is unrequieted and she doesn’t need a reminder. It’s just cruel. As a girl who did go through that, I feel you, Penelope!

Okay but how am I supposed to sympathize to either of them? Book!Daphne’s actions were questionable as well but I could understand her, it’s even left kinda ambiguous if she did it on purpose. I am sad and mad as ever. AND SIMON LOOKS LIKE SHE DOESN’T CARE I SAID WHAT I SAID

• Pen and Eloise give me life

Simon very clearly tells Daphne to “wait” but she continues. That makes it rape, point blank. Consent can be revoked at any time during the act and if the other person continues, it is rape. It does not matter the genders of the participants, if you have had sexual relations before, or if you are married to your rapist. IF SOMEONE SAYS STOP AND YOU KEEP GOING, YOU ARE RAPING THEM. There is no “gray area” here. She knew what she was doing. 

I keep seeing people trying to justify Daphne’s actions and it is disgusting and inexcusable. Yes, Simon was wrong for lying to her about his ability to father children, but THAT DOES NOT MAKE WHAT SHE DID ANY LESS HORRIFYING. Yes, Simon was wrong but that doesn’t mean he deserved to be raped. The show never has Daphne even apologize for raping him.  Absolutely gross. And I’m supposed to root for them as a couple after this? Fuck that. 

(Also, Daphne’s complete lack of knowledge about how babies are made is historically inaccurate. Regency era young women did by-and-large know where babies came from. But I’m digressing from the point. Regardless, lack of awareness is not an excuse for committing rape.) 

Then, I keep seeing people say that the rape was not a rape because “Simon could’ve fought her off if he really wanted to” or “he consented to sex before and seemed into it in the beginning.” NONE OF THIS CHANGES THE FACT THAT IT IS RAPE. Some people are frozen in situations of trauma. They panic. And you can see in his eyes after the rape that he is upset and shocked. Would you ever ask a woman who says she was raped why she didn’t fight her attacker harder, or tell her she must’ve been enjoying it because she didn’t fight him off? 

Also, I repeat, CONSENT CAN BE WITHDRAWN AT ANY TIME DURING THE ACT. He tells her to “wait.” She doesn’t listen. It is rape. If the roles were reversed, and a woman told a man to “wait” during sex and he didn’t, would you still have the same response? Simon has the right to determine whether he reproduces or not. The show could’ve had the two of them discuss their opinions on children and Daphne help Simon put his trauma behind him through communication and support. Or - considering the pull-out method is not the most effective - perhaps she could have thought she was pregnant and this could have started a dialogue, with the end result being Simon decided he wanted children after all. This did not need to happen. 

There is also the added element that Daphne is white and Simon is Black, which makes her rape of him even more atrocious than it already was. Why should a Black man have to forgive his white wife for raping him? She is not entitled to his body. Fuck that. 

And then we have showrunner Chris Van Dusen JUSTIFYING the rape by saying it was “part of Daphne’s journey.” I am disgusted. Every one who took part in writing this scene should be ashamed of themselves.
