SUMMER: Honestly it's not that I think Star Wars is better, I just never got into Star Trek for some reason. Kind of like how I have an iPhone not because I think it's better than a Galaxy, but because it's just the first smart phone I had and it's just the one I know best.

EVIE: Oh boy, the dreaded Star Wars vs Trek debate. To be clear, I enjoy both. But being an engineer and lover of science, there's something about a group of science nerds exploring space I really identify with. 🙈

Apparently Tinder doesn’t boast many pun lovers. I’ll have to try Hinge. Or bumble. Yeah, starting to see a trend. Suddenly feeling very silly for indulging them in the first place. Might delete later. Watched The Social Dilemma last night and feeling very concerned for our civilization. Seems I might be part of he problem. 

I guess so. Not everyone can come up with good ones.

That was smooth, Evie. Honestly, anyone that doesn’t appreciate a good pun isn’t worth the time. Or energy. (There’s my lame attempt back.) But honestly, I have no idea. I’ve never been into dating apps. I prefer to hunt in the wild, old school style. But I wish you luck!

Not lame. Totally brilliant. Ten points to you, Skylar! I couldn’t agree more. Pity more people don’t see it the way we do. Oh, I’ve tried dating in the wild. I’m not very good at it. Hoped the online element of online dating would make it easier to connect but it seems to just make for easier (and more frequent) rejection. Technology really does bring out the best and worst in humanity, doesn’t it?

Maybe we should make it a challenge?! Just get off of dating apps– delete them for a month and see what happens? An experiment, if you will, and you love a good experiment. See If we meet anyone? Now, this is Castlewood, so we’ll probably have to go to Portland and mingle.. but I’m going overwhelmingly tired of the lack physical affection of my life. 

I do love a proper scientific experiment. I’m in, but we must both swear not to abandon the other no matter how interesting a match is found and I will need you to fill out some basic questionnaires. And possibly sign a waiver.

Usually if you use all the common, popular apps, you’re still gonna get ghosted sometimes. Which is a damn shame, because the science puns are enough to get a positive reaction! Get that? Reaction? 

I did, and I loved it. Gold stars, babes! Yeah, you’re probably right. Maybe online dating just isn’t my area of expertise. I should stick to in-person activities, that’s where my sense of humour really shines through.
