sulking on ones front porch wasn’t exactly a luxury past time you could proudly demonstrate with these large festival crowds, but somehow that didn’t deter the girl from her mourning. how could she be blamed ? with all the death she’s experience throughout the life she remembers, some celebration of remembrance would only serve to bring back bad memories .
but then she… heard it. kido’s voice again – as if it was near rather than whispering in her soul, brushing past her ears just enough to make the medusa shoot up to her feet &. search for the source.
‘ … how are you a–alive ? ’
her voice cut through the crowd &. her hand gripped kido’s wrist, pulling her back to the steps of condo 419 in one quick motion. why could she physically do that ? jerk her around , feel the warmth of her skin ? did this strange world’s festival bring back the dead , or … was she just going mad ?
‘ y—you died, t–that child killed you– ! how are…. ? ’
… i’d say give it about five minutes to sink in before marry throws out logic in favor of crying on her “sister” out of relief.
the voice that reached her ears, the hand that gripped her wrist, the tug as she was pulled to the steps of a condo ---- everything happened quickly, and yet, when tsubomi’s gaze fell on a familiar face, she could only stare speechlessly. at first it was relief, grateful that this world allowed her to see marry once again, but in the next moment...
it was confusion. they knew each other, yet their circumstances were so far apart from each other. tsubomi had...died where marry had come from? no, been killed, something far different from the circumstance that would have been expected in a cruel world.
“i-i...it’s okay, i didn’t...i didn’t get killed where i came from...” even so, even despite those words, she held marry close. perhaps if she knew the circumstances marry had come from, she would be able to help her further, but at least there was this moment. this was a step. “it’s going to be all right, marry, i’m...i’m here...”
and by god, tsubomi wasn’t going to allow marry to come to harm here. not now, not ever, and hopefully she could do something to help her when they finally had to leave ---- and part.
